I cannot remember the last book I read...that is really bad!! I have been in a reading rut..

Last night I started The Martian....I did see the movie last year, however I was intrigued with wanting more to the story. I also heard that the book was excellent, so I went with it.

I usually go with historical period books and those in different countries. I wanted something different for a change.

I have so many on my old Kindle, that I have to read before I buy anymore.

I can't think of the title right now; but I stopped reading it.  The premise of the story was a woman who came into her inheritance hired a man to find her missing fiancee.  I don't normally mind a predictable story. But this one just didn't do anything for me.  It had good reviews; but I just couldn't get into it.

I like clean romantic stories; sometimes suspenseful with mystery, sometimes less dramatic. Sometimes modern, sometimes period.  It just depends on my mood.  Right now I'd love something set in the Mediterranean or maybe Caribbean.  Summer weathery I guess.  The hard part is sometimes finding what I'm in the mood for that keeps it clean to PG or a tame pg-13.
I know I'm picky.  Which is why I don't mind some predictable plot lines.

I am currently reading "Feeling Fat, Fuzzy or Frazzled?" by Richard Shames, MD and Karilee Shames, PhD, RN

It's about  beating Thyroid problems- I want to learn a bit more on how I can manage my weight and hormones and feel better.

I started two books yesterday. The first was London Rain, which Next Reads said was historical crime fiction similar to Jacqueline Winspear's Maisie Dobbs. But after 65 pages, it looks like a lesbian love triangle. I have nothing against lesbians, but I can't relate to their love stories. So I put that down and picked up The Devil's Diary: Alfred Rosenberg and the Stolen Secrets of the Third Reich.  This is new inside information on Hitler and the high command. Hitler and the Nazis have a repellent  fascination for me. I've always been stunned that human beings could manifest such evil and that the world would tolerate it even for a short while.

Actually reading...or rereading two right now...The Fiery Cross by Diana Gabaldon...you know, Outlander...and Dancing Naked at the Edge of Dawn by Krys Radish.  She is one of my all-time favorite authors.

Homer: The Ninth Life of a Blind Wonder Cat.

I couldn't even type that without almost bawling!
I have to put that on my "to buy" list.  I've heard the same sentiment from you and at least four other people...NOT on TCS...which says something!
