Back in January of 2008 I posted below on this site about a  cat. . . .

"Last Thursday night I had a very vivid dream, and since I don't usually remember my dreams I thought it was very odd. Anyways, I dreamed of a Tuxedo cat that needed my help. I remember in my dream I studied his face for a long time. The next day at work I was telling some of my co-workers about the dream. Someone suggested I go check out the local humane society, just to ease my mind. Friday night I went out to the shelter in search of a tuxedo cat. When I arrived, I checked out the cat room, there were a few cats, but no tuxedos. A lady came in and asked if she could help me. I asked her if they had any tuxedo cats, she said yes, in the back room.  She took me back to a room where they keep the sick cats. Sure enough there were 2 tuxedos, but neither one was from my dream. I was getting ready to leave and the lady said she sorry she couldn't help me. Well, I told her I just had this dream last night of a Tuxedo cat that needed my help. She got very white and started to tear up. There is another cat, yesterday someone brought in a cat that they had seen a neighbor slit the cats throat. Luckily they got to the cat in time and its at the vets being fixed up. She told me she had pictures, but they were very graphic. As she turned on the camera I couldn't believe what I saw. It was the cat from my dream!"

I had this cat for the last 8 years,  our connection was very special, almost on a spiritual level.   I came home yesterday to find he had died unexpectedly. . . .I feel like a part of me died yesterday and I'm heartbroken.    RIP Warrior

That's an incredible story.  Warrior is so lucky to have had you to take care of him, and it sounds like you had an amazing relationship with him.

I'm so sorry you've lost him so suddenly.  RIP, little boy.

I am very sorry for your loss of Warrior.  It does seem like you shared a very special connection.   The connection you shared will always live on in a special place in your heart.  Our babies take a piece of our heart with them when they leave.  No matter how long our babies our with us it is never enough time.  I hope that in time the heartbreak you are feeling now will be replaced with the great memories you have of your time together with Warrior.

Please be kind to yourself during this difficult time.  Everyone grieves at their own pace and in their own time frame.  You will find support here in what ever way you need it.  Hugs to you.

R.I.P. Warrior.

so very sorry to hear that you lost Warrior.

But what a great story! And what a great name for a cat!

I know it's no comfort to you now but he was loved, very very much so, and in the end this is all that mattered.

Maybe you could tell us more about him,  what he was like, what were his quirks, any exceptionally bad habits that will impress the Rogue (who is lurking wherever cats go after the bridge)?

Well when I first got him from the shelter after his surgery to repair his neck wound, he was not the most trusting guy.   He would "bop" me with his paw as if to say "hey back off".     It was only after about six months that we really bonded and he'd let me do anything to him.   I had a special whistle that I used to call him and where ever he was in the house he'd come running.  I called him "the warrior" because that's what he looked like to me, after awhile it just kind of stuck.  The fact that he came to me in a dream, still haunts me to this day. . . it was such a weird thing and nothing like that has ever happened again.

Just to show you what 6 months of love and care did for my boy.  The first photo was the day I picked him up,  the second was 6 months later.  Its amazing what LOVE can do!

Warrior was meant for you -- a literal heavenly match. He thanks you for the good home you gave him. I hope the person who slit his throat will have the same thing done to him. So sorry for your loss. Rest in peace, Warrior.

that's pretty amazing! All of it.

And the dream thing might be a huge bonus, he might - just might - come visit you in one of those dreams. It will probably take a while. If he does, could you ask him about the Rogue? The Rogue is the huge crazy white one that is probably sniffing his butt right now.

Thank you for rescuing Warrior, and loving him. I know you hurt terribly. But maybe you could love someone else, too. Not to replace Warrior but to help this someone else, and also yourself. I found that it helps a lot to have other cats around.

People will give you all kinds of good advice. Mine is just be kind to yourself, your body is hurting (I stopped making stomach acid when the Rogue died) and will take time to heal. Always remember that Warrior is without pain now. Maybe you want to create a cat page for him, with all your pictures.

Thank you Roguethecat!   I actually do have other cats. . .I've done a lot of cat rescues over the years,  Warrior was just special:)  And if I see him in another dream someday I will definitely ask him about Rogue.

Condolences on the sudden loss of Warrior.  It is an amazing story and I got goosebumps reading about your dream. Definitely a Heavenly made connection! Bravo for responding to Warrior's reaching out to you via dream, and you having the tenacity for responding to it!!! The 8 wonderful years that you have shared were a mutual blessing for you both and I am sure that you will find your soul kitty waiting for you when you reunite across The Bridge.

Warrior was your soulmate, it was meant to be. You needed each other to complete each other, it is as simple as that. The 8 years you had together is a blessing, try to celebrate what you gave each other, he brought fulfillment and joy into your life, you brought love and peace into his. He  died at home, surrounded by all he loved so dearly, he will rest at peace knowing he will never be forgotten and that he meant something to someone in this world. Even though your heart is broken and you are bewildered by his sudden leaving, know you meant everything to that brave little boy and he would never want you to be so sad when remembering him. He will always be with you, you have a bond that not even death can take from you. he will reside in that special place in your heart for the rest of your life. He is a part of you. He left you with a legacy of love, share it to keep his memory alive. As you two were destined to always be together, you will never be far apart in spirit. Bless you for helping this special boy, you will be loved by him forever more for giving him such a wonderful home so full of love. Take care, and thank you for your wonderful tribute to such a wonderful and deserving feline. RIP sweet Warrior. you will never be forgotten and will be held in a loving heart forever, goodnight sweet prince!

Wow, that was an amazing story. This cat will forever have a special place in your heart. Did you ever had another special animal in your life before warrior? I really feel special animals reincarnate. I am a true believer. Rest in peace beautiful warrior.
