Hello kitty lovers!!!
My little chubby has now been at her new home a month. Progress has been slow! But there are improvements.
I had her in a seprate room and graudaully showed her my mums cats. Theres a patio door glass and she used to sit in the living roo. Looking out at them and few times hissed. In the last week shes avoided going in the living room at all. Ill bring her down ans she will sit on my lap for a while then will look at them thru glass n walk away!
Im glad shes not being aggressive anymore but im not sure why she is avoidong them ?! Is there anything elze i could be doing ?
She has been in yhe same room as miffi shes 10 they both arent really bothered by eachother. If miffi moves quickly my cat runs away.

Any 'improvements' in cat-to-cat introductions is great. And when you consider a month is only 4 weeks then your progress is awesome.
  • What you could do, to get your cat more comfortable with your mom's cats is a lot of 'scent swapping'.
Take any of the cat blankets, cat beds, cat toys from any of the cats, and exchange them.

Then notice how each of the cats react, to the items.
  •   Get your cat to play with you in the rooms you want, usually with wand toys, ping pong balls, scrunched up paper, etc...
so that she feels more comfortable, and confident in all rooms of the house.

I think this Article on playing with cats creates confidence in our cats.  [article="32656"]Playing With Your Cat 10 Things You Need To Know[/article]

Sometimes cats see other cats outside and this bothers them, and gets them agitated, so your cat might be thinking that your mom's cats are strangers, being on the other side of the glass patio door.

Your cat might also just get a little scared from sudden movements, so running away from Miffi is perfectly normal. She rather run away then stay and have a confrontation.

It will just take more time, for your cat to become more comfortable.
  • Make sure to have plenty of vertical spaces for your cat to escape to, and watch from, if she likes being up high, on cat trees, side tables, bookshelves, etc.
  • Also spend time with all the cats, read to them, talking, playing, so that all the cats see how they can share their space.
