Manly Men Love Cats! Share Pics and Videos and Stories Here!

There seems to be this lingering myth that men only love dogs.  That's so not true!  I've found many videos, such as the one below that prove real men do love cats!  Share videos or pics here!

There is a story out there about how Steve Perry came to love cats.  I haven't found it yet but I recall it happened when his girlfriend Sherrie ("Oh Sherrie") moved in with her cat.  He didn't like cats at first.  She told him "Love me, love my cat".  He became a cat lover and now has several!

Here's another story about a poor kitty that was rescued from the freeway by a very kind man.  Be forewarned the kitty's mouth is bloodied.  At the end the report says the kitty is recovering.  

Ok that last one was sad but with a good ending, so here is a very zen  video made by Cory (formerly Mr Safety) on youtube.  It's very calming and will put a smile on your face.

As a dude and a cat owner, I approve.

I'd like to think Bud is a manly cat, but in reality he's 2 years old and still mews like a baby lol. But I have to say, my brother is probably the manliest person I know, being a war veteran, Marine, infantry guy, and now a fed, and he really likes Buddy. Bud likes him too -- whenever my brother visits, Bud seems to know he's family and rubs up against him, then demands attention.

Getting a cat was one of the best decisions I've ever made, and people who think having a cat isn't masculine are really missing out. I wouldn't trade Buddy for anything.

Thanks for your post!  I started this because of one new member (who was only here briefly) who lost his cat made it clear that if anyone at his work knew he loved a cat, he would lose his reputation.  I think he's dead wrong.  There are plenty of men out there like you and your brother who love cats and don't mind who knows it.  I'll see if I can locate this pic of Nicolas Cage's brother I once saw.  He's a big Harley dude and actually takes his cat with him on his rides.

I'll try to find other examples too, but I know off the top of my head that Brook and Robin Lopez, brothers and NBA centers, not only have cats, but are so in love with them that they maintain Instagram pages for them. I was listening to an interview with Robin Lopez when he signed with the Knicks this past offseason, and was surprised when the host asked him if he was looking forward to NYC nightlife and he said something like, "Nah, I like hanging out at home with my cat."

There's also that story about the WWII Marine who found a kitten and nursed it back to health...in the middle of a combat zone. Craziness.

As for that other member, I feel bad. I would be devastated if I lost Bud. There would be something wrong if he wasn't upset.
