Good morning and Happy Saturday.

What other things besides cats (and The Cat Site) do you spend your free time on?

I'm quite active. I like walking, running, doing yoga and going horse riding. I love being outdoors whenever possible, so at the moment I spend my free time gardening too. I like making stuff. I'm gradually getting better at sewing and I get real pleasure from salvaging materials that I can make another cat tree out of.

Sometimes I'll go into the nearest city and spend an afternoon in an art gallery or an hour or so people watching from a coffee shop.

I hate shopping though. I try to avoid shops as much as I can.

How about you, what do you do in your free time?

I enjoy taking my camera with me and shooting, whatever.  I also do virtual digital art, and can get very consumed with that at times.  Here's a photo I did the other night:

We recently rejoined The Museum of Modern Art in NYC, and both of us are looking forward to making more than several visits this year.  I love being in museums of all kinds, MOMA is the pinnacle of museums for me.

Going to the movies is a big one also although we don't do it as regularly as we'd like to.

Cooking for pleasure is also something I'll do for the heck of it.  I love trying out new recipes.  Cooking is (usually) a very relaxing activity for me with a huge payoff!  Or, meeting up with my brother to have lunch and shoot the breeze.  I'm close with all my siblings but him and I have the most in common; I see him fairly frequently in comparison to my sisters.

I also like just sitting and people watching at times, which leads into taking photos too.

FYI I also avoid shopping for fun. Aside from the cost, it really is just an annoying way to pass time.  I've never been able to figure out what's so entertaining about it.

I'm not as active as I used to be because of some (minor) health issues.  I used to garden a lot,  and still enjoy it in the limited capacity I'm able to manage.  Potting up flowers and herbs and tending to my roses gives me great pleasure.  I love having fresh vases full of flowers around the house.

I used to go to see local bands a lot. However, since last year (especially after Lucky got sick) I've just lost a lot of interest in that. But, even before that, I was started to lose interest. I seem to have lost my tolerance for being out late especially, so I'll go to shows that are earlier still.

I like playing stupid FB games. Why? Because they are stupid (and I don't have to think too much). Looking forward to when Movies in the Parks (http://www.chicagoparkdistrict.com/events/movies/) starts up again! Enjoyed it quite a bit a few years back, bring your own snacks (although they provide popcorn) and beer/pop and it's a nice and inexpensive evening.

books=romance or suspense...almost always reading something..this time of year with yard sales starting up i can find some good novels dirt cheap.

shopping is ok if I am in the mood and have money. i hate window shopping. its pointless. I am the type to need structure..so having some kind of plan for the day or week is helpful. i don't like surprises or changes in my day. if something comes up i prefer to be given some time to think about it. my family has a bad habit of asking me an hour before they want to do something--um no-i am doing x y or z already. i work alot so dont have much free time otherwise it wouldn't bother me.

gardening is helpful. pulling weeds is therapeutic to me. I love reading a book under a tree with a breeze..and a cat or two next to me...not too exciting I know..i just prefer my own company.

and lastly eating something yummy..i like trying new things but lately i don't enjoy restaurants as much as I used to.

Reading, chillin' in front of the tely, going out for walks or hiking, hanging with my animals, horsebackriding, photography, exploring things, visiting special events, museums or festivals, travelling, exercising, use my home ballet barre, go interneting, help out my mother, spas, and of course basic recuperating the day after a really busy day.

I'm hoping in the future to be able to do something like doggy agility.

Sometimes I bake, but my oven is currently on the fritz so dabbling with gardening the first time. So far, my three indoor plant babies are doing ok!
 Knock on wood!

Haven't been able to sew in awhile, but had done that quite often too.

I feel like such a boring person compared to all the things others have potsed about
Even among co-workers I'm a boring person. Everyone is always talking about the latest movie they saw or recent trip etc etc and I don't do anything. I guess my idea of fun are solo activities like coloring and reading and (trying to) practice meditation and mindfulness and going for walks along the river when the weater is nice. I'm trying to get back into beading and crafts again. I'm perfectly happy being a complicated introvert but sometimes it makes me feel like an outsider when I'm among extroverts because they don't get why I'm a homebody.

I'm rather lazy these days and seem to spend a lot of time sleeping, or dozing on the sofa  (I used to swim a lot but stopped a couple of years ago).   I've always enjoyed lots of different crafts and over the last 6 months / year I have been doing a lot of colouring, and also got back in to jewelry making (as much as Mouse allows as I don't think it would be safe using any chemicals or anything with him around - so no soldering).   I used to read a lot and have been trying to get back in to that again when I have enough brain energy.   I work part time and if friends are around on my days off it's always nice to meet up for a tea or coffee at a nice cafe or art gallery.

...with the cats...
this is an interesting question for me, especially at this time. i've just recently had a shift in focus, so i'll have much more free time. i'm still adjusting to having more time available for leisure activities.

i love to read, so i'll work on getting back into reading books. i'll also get back into the habit of enjoying computer games. and i'd like to continue listening to podcasts, as well as start listening to audible books.

I enjoy reading and gardening. I like sightseeing, but can't do much of it anymore because of the walking.

Very pretty, @sivyaleah!

We don't have a lot of free time lately; it seems we're always rushing around trying to get things done.

I love to bake and I really love baking bread. There's something so comforting about a good loaf of freshly-baked bread with lots of butter. Yum And cookies. I enjoy making cookies.

I'm an avid reader when I have time to sit down and read something. Doesn't really matter what it is; I'm not a sports person by any stretch, but I will read Rick's Sports Illustrated magazines from cover to cover, simply because it is reading material. I devour our daily newspaper. And I'm a bookworm.

I get up early just to get some reading time in, gardening is next. I have an acre of extensive flower beds so I spend a LOT of time weeding, but it is worth it to see the beauty of a well tended garden.  Vegetables too, but no more kittens, finally got the last mama spayed!!! The youngest 'baby' is now a year old.

You are not alone! I was always the 'boring' person at work.. very much introverted.

I have been characterized as a homebody also. I do stay home a lot. I usually try to go out everyday, but if I stay home, it does not bother me. If I stay home more than a few days, then I get antsy and have to get out..even if it is just the store.

Even with 'family'.. I really do tend to keep to myself and not mingle. It feels lonely sometimes, but I really do not mind being alone. I never thought I would say that, but I really do like doing what I want and when I want to.

When I get going, I love to read.

Right now I am on the computer too much. I also watch too much TV.

For relaxation, I always have some music on. It varies as to what my mood is.

I love to have music on, candle burning, and a glass of wine or 2. That really relaxes me. In the summer, I love to sit on my balcony and read. That is when I enjoy the silence, or as much as I can get, living in a city.

Cooking is relaxing if it is something I know will come out well. I used to cook a lot for my dad. Now, I rarely cook.

My most enjoyment  is to sit in a chair with Artie cuddled up on my lap. That is relaxation to me.. i could just cuddle with him forever. I also love looking at the clouds. My dad got me into the habit, when I was very small. Sitting outside, just looking at the clouds.

Durning the Summer, At night, after the mosquitos are gone, I love to sit outside, look at the starts.....It is incredibly peaceful for me.

Yes, I do miss my dad.. he passed 4 years ago. I was so grateful to have him as my dad; and to have the opportunity to really get to know my dad ~~~ as a person. We used to chat about everything, his life, the world in general, political stuff, family stuff,... I was fortunate he had his facilities up until 30 hours before he passed. He was just a few weeks shy of his 91st b-day. He lived with me. and he tried to help me...I have no regrets at all. That is what I am thankful for.

What do I like to do. Not very much since I retired. At work I was the office clown. Not intentionally. I just made people laugh. Maybe it's the British sense of humour. I read a lot. I cooked and baked alot. The 4 of us ate supper together every night which is not that common here and I cooked every night and baked over the weekend.
Since I retired I've stopped cooking and baking. I've lost the touch,or it's my oven. I never really got on with it since I bought it.
The last few weeks my reading has gone down. Maybe I'm picking boring books. The less I go out and see people the better. I've become old and grumpy and lazy etc.

I read.  I currently have about 300 book in my library, with a list of another 500 that I would like to have.  Not random books, but authors whose works have become like old friends.  I do some crafting...bits of this and that, it depends on what catches my fancy at the moment.  Stenciling is big, because I can make a twin sized flat sheet into a custom drapery panel with just a bit of time and very little effort..and even less money!  Or a table cloth, or place mats...even my Surefit slip covers won't be immune from The Mad Stenciler!  I have not stenciled the cat...yet...

That's on my list to get.  I think I would love it.  I just can't choose one...there are about six that I really want!
Have you looked at the books, and also all the free design download links in this  colouring thread?  Lots of views on different pens and pencils as well as thoughts on books.  The links to free designs are great as you can print off and see what kind of designs you enjoy colouring in.
