Is she or most cats just weird, or is something wrong?

Throwing up her food.....she only does this 'sometimes', and it is always/only the wet food(sometimes).  There are times when she will love what I put out for her, and gobble it up. When she ate ALOT too fast, she threw it right up.  But then I started feeding her small portions to start(1/4 can), then I gave her the other 1/4 can later in the morning when she finished the first 1/4.  No problems with digestive issues/throwing up.  Then when I put another flavor of wet food out, she will sometimes just sniff at it and walk away.  If I leave it out for her all morning and she eats it, she will throw it up alot of times.  Is she just telling me she doesn't like that flavor?  I would be more worried if she threw up every flavor of wet food, but it is only sometimes.  I do feed her 1/2 cup of kibble later in the day.  She is a 12 y/o Tabby/Calico....pretty fat too .

I personally don't believe that a kitty vomiting is ever 'normal' just as it isn't 'normal' for people.  Of course it doesn't mean that something major is wrong just as it doesn't mean something major for people.  Many kitties will vomit when they eat too fast.

Kitties sniffing at their food and walking away does happen a lot.  If the vomiting happens a lot with one type of food than something in that food doesn't agree with her.

If you are looking to help her loose some weight the rule of thumb for safe weight loss is 15 calories per pound of her ideal weight per day.  Dry food usually has calories on the bag.  Often the wet food does not.  Usually you can get the calorie count from the companies web site.

A lot of cata do this with wet food. You really have to read the labels on wet food as the ingredients make all the difference. Avoid wet food with added color. My boys will get sick when i give them food with color. They will also get sick if i give them cheap brands which have a lot of filler. You can also try grain free.

It could be the flavor, it could be the ingredients, or it could be a medical problem but healthy cats throw up if food contains questionable things.

Yea, it is 9lives Seafood and Poultry favorites.  Like I said, she will have no problem with one of the flavors, yet not touch another. I only am feeding her the wet food to keep her weight maintained,as she is pretty overweight I think.  But she is an indoor only cat too for her whole 12 years of life.  Maybe I will just give her dry food from now on only....she usually gets half a cup per day in the afternoon,  along with half a can of wet in the morning.
