Hi All

Gizmo was really off this morning - producing a lot of saliva, not eating, a bit lethargic. Took him to the vet and he also had a temperature. Vet gave him some antibiotics, anti-inflammatory and vitamins and he is much better now. He's eating and has a bit more energy, and his eyes have brightened up.

My question is whether his food could have caused it?

We give him applaws dry to nibble on overnight (he normally has granatapet or feringa wet), and we have just started a new bag. From when I opened it I thought it seemed a bit off - darker, smellier, more brittle feeling, but just didn't think much of it. And when we gave it them they turned their nose up, when they would normally devour it.

The vet is pretty sure he's fine, that there's nothing going on, and he does seem okay now. He wasn't sick, but clearly felt it.

Anyone had a similar experience?

Thanks

You can call the company, give them the lot number and see if there are other complaints and they may ask you to send a sample.  i did this once and they found that the food was not up to standards.  That said, given your cat had a fever it seems more likely to be an infection of some sort.
