Sorry guys I have a few other questions;

1. He walks funny in the back legs kind of stiff like he doesn't bend them when he walks it's like a waddle (is that normal when they're teenie babies?)

2. He has a bent tail and i'm not sure if it's the common birth defect like in Laos cats or if his tails been broken will this be an issue as he grows? Cause pain or discomfort? The tail is folded like a hook.

if the waddling isn't normal perhaps it's because of the tail. He doesn't mind me touching it or anything he actually purrs when i do.

Sorry again, I'm new to furbabies this young im used to 5wk+

Meagan.

You mentioned that you found some sort of vet who agreed to see your kitty and give him/her the vaccinations when old enough???   Can you take him/her to them now?

Not sure about the waddle, could be normal. The tail bend is probably from inbreeding. A tail kink is a common tell.

Thank you for rescuing this little one.

The tail should pose no problems. I would guess it is a birth defect, but I did notice it in your pictures.

I'm really not sure what you mean about stiff back legs. They do toddle until they get strong enough to walk better, but back legs do bend. Perhaps the vet can better advise you on that.

Thank you for caring for this kitten! [emoji]128522[/emoji]

The vet is setting an appointment when she's in Hue again :) so I just need to keep him happy till she can have a look at him and see if there's an issue. :)

Well, if he is pooping and peeing normally, then the back leg issue is probably not going to be something that can't be dealt with, even if it even is an issue.  You may well just have to take a bit of extra care in homing him, making sure that the new guardians will keep him from harm due to a gait disturbance...but kitten waddles can seem very stiff if you aren't used to them.  Do the legs bend normally when you gently manipulate them by hand?

Boy...did I post that backwards or what?  I need a nap.

They bend normally they just seem too tall for his body. He can jump and bend them but when he walks he just kind of sticks them straight out like this /\ he doesn't seem bothered and he still trots around just fine.

Perhaps it's just the kitten waddle I haven't seen in a while :D

Sounds like it.  Let's not borrow trouble.  The vet will know for sure, but it does sound like kitten waddle.  And lots of perfectly normal cats are a bit taller in the back end than the front.

Sweet little thing! Thank you for rescuing him @MeaganAndAlbert  I have quite a few rescued feral cats that have a short, curled tail like him. They often have their back legs slightly longer than the front, but it doesn't cause them any trouble at all.

When will the vet be able to see him? Is there a Vietnamese version of Amazon? It's possible to get kitten worming medicine and eye drops online. I get most of my worming medicine that way, Profender is a good one.

Please keep us updated on his progress.

I live in the Philippines, so I am accustomed to seeing the tail issue, probably a third of my cats have some form of tail malformation, this is a result of inbreeding and very common in Asian. That is nothing to be concerned with.

As for the walk, it is also pretty normal, she is just getting her legs under her, and it will mostly go away over time.

Glad you had a sharp eye and rescued her before she died of exposure, this is the summer season, and it's very hot outside. She would not have lasted long inside a plastic bag under the hot sun. Hydration is probably the most important factor, with food intake a close second. For a kitten this young, wet food is going to be best since kittens are not often good at hydration and must get as much fluid as possible with their food.

There are a few natural dewormers, and she definitely needs to be treated for them. Make sure you get one that covers hookworms, they are very nasty and can cause all kinds of intestinal problems. You will have to repeat the treatment, probably twice to make certain they are all gone. You need to keep her box clean as well.

Thank you for being another rescuer, we need more people like you in the world, and less like the person who put her in a plastic bag to die, what a cruel thing to do.

tips are always welcome, especielly if you or someone you know has tested them and know they are safe to try.   Nice if they work, but very important they must be safe to use.

We do have members from countries or circumstances withouth much vets, so tips are always welcome.

This way we for example discovered the goat milk.   At first I and others began to recommend it as emergency solution, when you didnt had any kmr but there were goats around.   After a while we discovered goats milk is really useful in many situations and many countries.  Its just to get it.   Here in Sweden for example, its difficult to find it.

Thanks for the purraises, in asia, especially places like Vietnam and the Philippines, access to care, even food and medication for animals is spotty at best. When people live in the province, it declines to almost nothing. Since cats are treated as a furry rodent in these countries, getting good care for a cat, is even more difficult. So we have to make due with what we have, and that makes things much more challenging.

Thankfully, where I live, there are semi-competent veterinarians here, but the special diet and other medications that are widely available in the West, are difficult and sometimes impossible to find. We are still learning to deal with any problems that may come up, and since we rescue a lot of cats, and I do mean a lot, last I counted, we have 30 cats at our home, all of them rescues. We have learned to recognize a few common problems here in the Philippines, and treat most of them at home. When something new, or unusual happens, then it's off to the vets.

Getting all these kids spayed a neutered is costing us a pretty penny, but we know that it's the right thing, and the only thing to do. Too bad the rest of the country doesn't see it that way. Cats are everywhere here, and they breed faster than rabbits. We do our part, but it will never be enough. We have also learned to accept that we can't save them all, that is probably the most important lesson of all.

We have a few strays we feed at the local grocery store. One is warming up to us, and allows us to pet her, even pick her up. They recognize us by sight now, and will come running when ever we arrive, they know we bring treats, and we do this daily, one can of wiska's wet food for three, sometimes four cats. People think I am crazy because I circle the building meowing, but when they see me, the cats will follow me to the backside, and people watch in amazement. We get a kick out of that, seeing their faces go from strange looks to smiles.

Anyway, anything I talk about relating to cats on here, will be something I have tried myself. I am from the US, where cat care is much simpler. In Asian, it's very different, so anytime I can help steer someone in my neck of world who rescues a cat, I will not hesitate.

Nice!    This way you perhaps - probably - do win proselytes.  More people whom see cats as small furry friends than just some sort of vermin.

You can be a missionaire in more ways than one.    :)

It's great that you are helping to save as many cats as you do. I commend you.

It feels endless here in the U.S. too, as so many people fail to spay and neuter in time. This results in shelters turning away cats and kittens when they are overflowing during kitten season, and many thousands more being euthanized due to there being no room.

SO true.  I work online crossposting/advocating for cats in need of loving forever homes.  For many hours every single day.  And that's basically just for the NYACC.

His appointment is on Tuesday morning :D yay!

@Thekittykeepers  Thank you for your support :D it's was a 40 degree day when I found the little guy, the bag was sweating. He drank from my water bottle about 5 caps before i put him in my shirt and drove home :(  I will definitely get him de-wormed, he must have all sorts of intestinal parasites so Tuesday is his big day and the vet is going to keep seeing him for checkups regularly for an extra payment, of course ;)

We are quite lucky as she only travels through once a month for 4-5 days but she agreed to see him and give him a check-up;treat the eye/ear mites/worm him.

While this has been happening he's turned into the biggest ball of energy. He's sprinting around the house as I type. He ran into the glass door yesterday but he's fine '____'  we've since put a curtain over it.

I've never had an Asian cat as a rescue just DSH/DLH in Australia so I don't think i'm used to the sphynx-like long rear legs and big ears/little head combination. He is wonderful!

He's litter-trained now, he uses his tray always and if he wakes up in the night he bites my nose to let me know he needs to poop.

I wish I could get him back to Australia :( We've really fallen for him (my husband and I) We've lived here for a year and a half so far but won't be staying permanently and getting animals into Australia is a $3000+ journey. My concerns now are finding a home where he's treated well. Most dogs/cats are fed rice here (and thats a treat) as there main food source and rarely eat meat unless they catch it. I need a forever hom with a cat LOVER and it's proving difficult BUT we will get there!

Excellent!  You are doing so well.  *LOVE the nosebiting comment!*  You might go online on Animals 24/7, which is a U.S. online advocacy paper written for and about worldwide animals/animal issues; they do know of some groups active in Asia, such as Soi Dog Foundation (which also, if I'm not mistaken, helps cats).  They may be of help in locating rescues/groups/even a loving permanent home for this sweet little thing.

Oh, dear. I wish you could take him home with you also. Why is it so expensive?

Hmm just a suggestion, but maybe you could start up a gofundme? I'd love to donate (though unfortunately can't because I'm... like 15 lmao...) but I'm sure lots of other users would be willing to donate, especially seeing as you've bonded with the little guy!! Gofundme's usually work really well for people wanting to take a rescue back to their home-country, so you could give it a shot!!
