For anyone that feeds Sheba, or just tries to buy things when on sale - Sheba is on this crazy-sale at Chewy.com. $6.30 for a 24-pack, and $5.98 with autoship. Now the thing is it keeps going out of stock, which keeps disallowing you to purchase. It took three whole days of refreshing that page before it finally allowed me to make the purchase - but it finally did today!

It has a longer delivery time right now, but I could care less about that. If anyone is following the babble thread, they know I'm in no need of cat food, but I bought it because doing autoship locks you in at that price - and that is a GREAT price.

That's an awesome deal!  I just wish they included the turkey flavor instead of salmon.

There's also a buy 5 get 5 free coupon for Perfect Portions available on Coupons.com right now, for those who prefer to shop in-store.

autoship does not lock the current price, it just autocharges and autoships every 1 week, 2 weeks or whatever timeframe you have set up

if the price changes before your next autoship, you WILL be autocharged the changed price when it autoships next

i know this from personal experiance with chewy and other sites that offer autoship

they do sometimes offer a permanent discount for some items that are autoshipped, but that has nothing to do with the actual price of the items, its just a discount applied to whatever the CURRENT price is at the time of autoship

for ex:  lets say that today the food is on sale for 6bucks and you get a 10% discount for using autoship

but the next autoship the food is not on sale and is now 12bucks but you still get a 10% discount for using autoship

hope this helps

@Donutte, I totally missed the part where you said the price would get "locked in."  @crica  is correct; the amazing sale price would only apply to the first shipment.  Amazon Subscribe-and-Save works the same way.  I typically place an order and enroll in autoship or subscribe to get the additional discount, and then cancel my subscription before the next shipment.

Amazon does not lock in the price, that is correct. That hasn't been my experience with Chewy. In fact it tells me I'll lose the price (not discount but price) I was locked in at when I cancel, like I had to with Sara's k/d order when she died.

Either way, it's a great price.

Wait, really?  I've always canceled after my first shipment arrived, and it never told me I had the price locked in.  I can't find any details about this on their website... but if what you say is true, that is seriously awesome.

And yup, this is a fantastic price either way.

Nah, chewy doesn't lock in the price. I have a standing autoship and I have to check their price before it ships to make sure they haven't jacked up the price that day. That happened to me once :/.
