I finally found a solution for our pilling troubles! :) I'm sooo happy and just have to share the secret...

We had to feed out poor kittens several different pills for the two months since we've got them and they became really good at resisting.

Now they have to take metronidazole twice a day for 7 days (they have giardia). As many of you know metronidazole is impossibly bitter and disgusting. We tried using a pill popper, coating the pill in butter, feeding it with meat sauce, crushing it and putting it in food, dissolving it in water and feeding it with a syringe, wrapping kitties in a towel... nothing worked. They were just too determined. We got scratched and our kittens were miserable, crying, hiding and drooling all over the kitchen for 15 minutes after. We were never sure if they got the right dose or if they actually swallowed it. I was terrified that they would start to hate or fear us.

So here's the trick: I wrap pieces of the pill in small pieces of processed cheddar cheese (the individually wrapped kind), form nice little balls (the size of a pea) and coat that in FortiFlora probiotic powder. Not only do they eat it voluntarily, they beg for more! :)
