Late with this today!

Are you more likely to choose an outfit that looks good or feels good?

I have to say 90% of the time it is feels good. I prefer to be comfortable. If I am going out somewhere special or it is a special occasion, I will be more likely to pull out the uncomfortable clothing.

Um Feels good.  No question about it.
It's nice when something can feel AND look good. But most of the time I'm home with my kids, cleaning, gardening, etc.  So really comfortable clothing is most appropriate.  But even when i worked I went for comfortable business casual clothing and shoes.  Those days are over.  If I had to dress up tomorrow; I'd be in trouble.

I'm SO lucky at work - we have an extremely relaxed dress code.  Maybe because I work in a design atmosphere.  My usual is black jeans (I have a zillion pairs lol), a nice shirt, and sneakers! My feet suck so tough on them.  FYI, I'm considered management too - which really shows how low key it can be.  As long as we are neat, presentable, clean and get our work done - that's what we're all concerned with, not dressing to impress.  Those who go to meetings dress up when required but daily, down to earth is the code words

Feels good definitely.  I am old enough to have been working in an office during the 80's and I hated it.  The whole 'dress for success' big hair thing was horrible.  I couldn't buy a nice outfit without those hideous huge shoulder pads in it.  I am 5' 9" and not small boned, even when I am not the least bit overweight I look silly with those shoulder pads.

I remember those too lol.

I'm (was more) petite in the 80's than now and they did me no favors either

Considering that I purchase my clothing from Omar the Tent Maker, everything might as well be comfy, cause NOTHING looks "good."  Only "less bad."

I go for comfortable, flattering clothes. That means when I dress up for church, it's also got to be comfortable and make me look good.

What feels good. I don't follow trends, I just wear what's comfy & fits my style. [emoji]128515[/emoji]

Both. While I want to wear what feels good, I also want to look nice. I don't follow many fashion trends because, IMO, many of them are out-dated or ridiculous. For example, white only after Memorial Day, heels that are six inches high, shoes with toes so pointed no normal woman could actually fit into them, your purse must match your shoes. No thank you.

I hated the shoulder pads, too.

I tend to buy Worthington clothing for work (from JCP). And I'll buy from Christopher and Banks.

At work, because it's so chilly in there, I always wear a Fruit of the Loom sweatshirt over whatever I'm wearing in the office. It looks stupid and I think it makes my boss crazy, but I don't really care anymore. I gave up on dresses and skirts a few years ago. So now, it's usually a pair of casual pants with a nice top and the inevitable sweatshirt. Either boots or shoes, sometimes sandals, but not often.

I was pleasantly surprised when I got dressed for the funeral and realized that I looked quite nice. Just a simple pair of charcoal pants, with a burgundy top, and a grey jacket. And dress shoes. A black Etienne Aigner purse that was ages old, but I still like it. I made up my mind that I was not going to buy anything just to wear to that funeral.

I started work late 1960'a. Very smartly dressed. Suits and stuff. Low heels. When I first came here and I started work late 1968 I dressed the same. The last few years I wore trousers and sandals. Now I don't own a dress or a skirt. Only trousers with modern comfortable tops.

There's no question that everyday fashion has become more and more casual. That seems to be the evolution of clothing. A man's suit of top hat and tails was originally used for riding - that's why the tail is split, to fit over a horse's back. A morning suit was just that - a casual suit for the morning. Work conditions also have mandated change in clothing. Women began to wear pants during World War II when they were working in factories and a dress was not suitable for the work.

I have sensory issues so I can't wear anything that's even slightly uncomfortable for more than an hour or so. Then it starts making me anxious and it HAS to come off. Hats make me uncomfortable even if they fit well, so I can only wear one briefly while mowing.

Also, I apparently wildly misunderstand what people think looks good---every time I wear something that is intended to look conventionally attractive, I'm told that it's weird or out of place. So, since I can't ever get it right, I've just given up on trying to guess what other people like and just wear whatever doesn't make me want to claw my skin off :D.

I HATE tight clothing-panty hose-lyrica-spandex-any polyester material.

If its not natural and soft on my skin forget it. I never liked dresses because my legs are always cold-so I went into a man's field where its acceptable to wear jeans and work shorts. It has to be comfortable stretch material otherwise forget it.

I could never work in an office-I only have work boots that fit. The shoes that are made nowadays are too narrow for my feet. So forget it. I will stick to my stretch kahkis black always and cotton v neck shirt with a button up shirt like guys wear with their jeans. I like to look presentable but it doesn't have to be stylish. I love linen pants in the summer-they don't stick to my skin like spandex mixed jeans do,

Growing up I drove my mom batty with my hate of elastic band pants and any scratchy itchy fabric. I still to this day wear plain down dressed clothes even at weddings etc.

It depends on where I am going. When I go to church on Sunday, I wear a dress, stockings, low heeled shoes, etc. When I dress for grocery shopping or a day out with friends, I wear jeans, usually a Life is Good tee shirt, a pair of my Dansko shoes.

For sure, I wear what feels good. I only dress up for weddings. I wear comfortable clothes during the week although my preference above all is jeans and a t-shirt. Well, really, if I could be in my PJs all day, I'd just do that :lol3: In fact, on days when I'm just at home all day, that's exactly what I do! I even go through drive-thrus in them. I absolutely hate being uncomfortable in my clothes, and life is too short for that anyway.
