We've recently had a lot of rain and my uncle heard kittens meowing outside, and came back in with three out of the four we know our cat had, all soaked and freezing. We dried them off and warmed them up again and I was told to keep the box of them in my room.
They're completely dry and warm now, and have been sleeping pretty soundly for the most part; but the smallest one will cry and mewl now and then and calmed down whenever I petted him.
He also has peed on the old dog sweater they're laying on, and when he pooped on me when I was holding him to warm him up, it was solid but there was a reddish jelly-like substance too. Does that have anything to do with his restless mewling and curling up?

How old are they?   What do they get to eat?  You can please tell more...

So I presume your cat had them outside and she is an outside cat?.  What become of  the fourth of them?

It may be so he is meowing because he is uneasy in the stomach, yes.

But please tell more, it will be easier to analyse.

ps. Its also possible he meows because he lacks his momma. And get calmed when you pet him, alike momma would do. It may even explain why he pooed on you - they do pooe when they are stimulated by the mommas tongue - your stroking his fur felt almost as moms licking...

They aren't old enough to be weaned yet but their mother (who is an outdoor cat) is pretty thin despite the fact we and a neighbour put food out for her and the other cats, so they've been started to be put on solid food already by her encouragements. We've fed them dry food soaked in water to soften it, mashed up and mixed in with some warm milk.

They've all been eating now and he is moving around more and very vocal, which is good! But his eyes seem to be gummed shut. We're not sure what happened to the fourth since we couldn't find him, but we hope their mother moved it somewhere safe and dry.

I see. Yeah, in such cases trying to handraise is the best to do.  How to handraise you can look up, in our articles and the other threads, Im myself now on my job, I cant write too much.

Usually we dont recommend common cow milk.  Not pasteurized is somewhat safer then bought in shops pasterurized etc...

If you can get goat milk or kmr - kitten motthermilk replacement - its better.

Also, there are tricks to get the eat, alike suckling from a sponge.

They prob need some antibiotics.  Do you have access to a vet?  If not you can try to get some Terramycin preparate.  They are often prescripionsfree.   And also, try to wash off the eyes, with warm saline water.  Again, look up how to do it exactly.

They all managed to eat off and on and sleep a lot between feedings, and my grandmother brought in their mother a few minutes ago. After checking out my room and deciding it was okay she holed up under my bed and I guided the kittens over to her but she's curled up with all three of them nursing or asleep and she'll clean them up. It's still raining so we can't let them outside, so for now they're in here where it's warm and dry and they have their mother with them now at least!

If the gummy eyes persist though I'll definitely step in to clean them and see if that does the trick before contacting a vet. It may just be because of being outside and getting soaking wet.

We're all just glad they're doing so much better than when they came in.

They need to stay inside with their mom until they are older. Also, can you look again for the fourth kitten?

Try to keep their eyes clear of goop by wiping with a warm, damp cloth. They probably need terramycin ointment to treat the eye infection.

Mom probably needs de-worming in order to put on weight. She also needs spaying soon. Will you be able to do that?
