Hi all! This is my first post and I'm hoping someone can help! I'm a new cat mommy. Today I've officially had my cat Cheshire Cat, "CC" for short, for 1 week and Saturday she turned 8 weeks. She did not poop or pee the first 2 days I had her, then she has pooped once a day every day since Wednesday. However, she has only peed once, on Friday, and has not peed since! She has yet to use the litter box, and I keep trying to look for little pee spots or "sniff" for pee and can't see or smell anything! She seems to drink a little bit of water daily, but I can't tell how much as I have a fountain of flowing water and it is hard to gauge how much she drinks daily. The person I got her from had her eating adult cat food, so I incorporated kitten food into the cat food all week this week to get her tummy used to it and, as of tomorrow she will be solely on kitten food. It is dry food. Any help would be greatly appreciated!! I just wanna make sure my sweet fur baby is healthy! She's very energetic, cuddly, and playful so I haven't seen a decline there! I'm just worried she has something wrong with her urinary tract!

I'm pretty sure she's peeing somewhere in your house, you've just not been able to find it.  Otherwise, she would be lethargic and not eating.  Sounds like she might not know how to use the box and/or she doesn't like the litter you're using.  Since she's so young, she needs to be on wet kitten food and supplement with dry.  The wet food is so much better for her than dry, even as an adult.  It's full of water and vitamins that make it easier for her body to absorb and use.  I'd give her at least 3 wet food servings a day and water them down a bit with some water so it's the consistency of oatmeal.  Increase the number of litter boxes you have, even if you use disposable aluminum cooking pans and place them in every room of your house.  When kittens have to go, they have to go NOW!  You want her to have easy access to a litter box wherever she is in your house.

I just don't know where she could be going bc she only has access to the bathroom, kitchen, & living room throughout the day. Bathroom and kitchen are hardwood, living room is carpet. I haven't seen any wet spots and haven't smelled any pee. I honestly don't care where she pees at this point as long as I know she's healthy! [emoji]128514[/emoji][emoji]128514[/emoji] but we are definitely working on litter box training. I will definitely look into some wet food. Unfortunately I live alone and cannot give her wet food 3x/day, so I may have to do it once a day when I get home in the evenings. Thanks for the help!

I live alone as well and though I have an adult cat, here's how I do three feeding of canned a day: a serving in the morning before I start getting ready for work, a serving right when I get home from work and then a last serving before I go to bed. I leave a small amount of dry out for overnight and for when I'm at work. You may need to always make dry available since you have a kitten but I hope that gives you some ideas of how to fit more canned into your kitten's diet.
