I was gone Friday 5/14-Sunday 5/16 until about 7:30p. I came home and I smelled feces. I looked around and found a small green colored pile with clear jelly/mucous on it.  My cats have never pooped on the floor. I have 2 and I am not sure which one did it. Worse yet less than 5 hours later I came back into the dining room and there was another pile. It didn't seem like the mucous/jelly is colored. This is a big issue because if my dad saw it he would likely throw my cats outside.

How are your cats doing, CakeKarma? This combination of a smelly green pile and clear mucous sounds a lot like a situation we had last December when one of our cats apparently ate something very green (likely a houseplant) and then got sick. She, too, had never pooped on the floor; her butt was also leaking mucous. The mucous is apparently a reaction to inflammation. The first obvious sign that there was something wrong, though, (since the poop was behind a chair and dried overnight, ugh) was that Edwina didn't want her breakfast.

Lots of houseplants are dangerous for cats, so If one of your cats isn't eating well or seems sick, I'd highly recommend a vet visit. (You may have already done this...) Though time was the most important thing for Edwina, I'm glad we had blood tests run and got her some anti-nausea medication.

I hope your cats are all okay!

I am seconding the idea of a vet trip. It sounds like one or both is unwell. This isn't behavioral, it's illness.
