My dog seems to have some food sensitivity and with throw up often we've gone through a few brands and are back to one we started with when he was a pup and he's doing fine....Last month I put flea medicine on him just a few days after he was neutered and the next day he threw up pinkish mucous. I was very worried but couldn't get him to the vet that day, but found something that looked like metal in his stool so I figured he had some damage from that. He was acting fine eating fine and didn't get sick again so I never did call the vet. Before all this he was having an issue with blue buffalo food so I didn't think much about the flea meds. Well this month the same thing happened, only he had a bit of blood in his stool as well. This time I made the connection that it must be something with the flea medicine. He is fine now, and I won't be using k9 advantix again. I have been looking online to see if anyone else had issues like this, I've found some bad reviews with skin reactions, and throwing up, but not blood. Has anyone else had issues?

Frontline does not work for us. So next month I will be trying some natural deferents. Ticks are my biggest worry because we get them often here, we will see how it goes and if we aren't lucky we will get Nexgaurd from the vet.

Advantix has pyrethrin, which is very toxic to cats. Some dogs also have bad reactions. So, yeah, sometimes you just have to find a different product. I'm using Seresto collars this year (used them last year too), and that works for my dogs. So far, lol. It's the same active ingredient as Advantage, and it seems like it's not as likely to be ineffective as Frontline.
