A faral cat had kittens. I lost one to fading kitten syndrome. This other kitten (4weeks) was either stepped on or hit with the door . Yesterday. There are 3 others healthy in the garage with momma cat.
I live with a person whi doesn't share my thoughts in taking in animals to the vet. Who also controls the money and will not give me much needed cash to go to a vet. And thinks animals do not deserve propper care from a vet.
Im sure the kitten has a head injury/trauma. There was blood in nose and it had 1 small seizure that i know of. it appeared dead. So i picked it up and was going to put it with the other kitten to burry it togather.
But it was still breathing. I wrapped it in papetowel since it pooped a little i cleaned its bum. I was thinking it was going to die.
It's the next day. I made it comfortable in a small box on a heating pad (trying to keep it warm. ) i syringe it water every couple hours. I clean its bum and change the paper towel. It crys at the wipe. I change how its laying and try to elevate the head. It is hanging in there. It been sleeping for 11hours. Only somewhat awake for the water or bum/towel change.
Meanwhile the man i live with wants to put it out if its misery becausehe says it is suffering and i care more sbout cats then humans and that is wrong etc.
I have read much about other similar kitten injury stories. Most are a miracle and live
I want to take it to the vet and see if they can give it something or put it down humanely. It is Sunday, I was thinking of going tomorrow when he's at work. I thought maybe I can pawn something for the cash (this sounds so stupid that i have do do that instead of getting support from the man i share kids with)I did pray. .
Should i give it kitten formula now? Is there anything else i can do? How long will it rest for.

You are a kind and decent person for helping this kitty.  You can try kitten formula just , also can you call a  cat sanctuary? I know in my city they have wonderful volunteers that will try to help injured animals.

I have some hope. I syringed some salmon juice into it. It loved it. It lifted its head and opened an eye. Moved its body a bit. I changed its bedding too. The kittens body feels warmer now too.
I'm going to try kitten formula in a bit. Fingers crossed!

Oh, my! Can you explain a little more what happened to the kitten?

Kitten needs formula right away. Give it as much as it will take without aspirating every 2 hours. I am hoping the kitten can recover.

Seeing a vet tomorrow is an excellent idea.

You must wake the baby to feed it every couple of hours. It does not need to sleep 11 hours without food. That's dangerous!

Please let me know how the feeding goes and how the kitten responds. This kitten is absolutely worth trying to save! Bless you!

The kitten is 4 weeks. Yesterday it was steped on. It seemed like it had a head injury. But now that its moving a bit and there is no swelling that perhaps it just knocked its self out.
We are feeding it and letting it get the rest this baby needs. I'm foing all i can for it.
It needs a name....
Side note. We bottle fed this baby's mom. She was a runt of the litter.

Is the kitten taking the formula?

The goal would be to put the kitten back with its mom as soon as it seems well enough.

Was the kitten stepped on by a child or an adult? Is there a visible head injury?

How much is the kitten moving?

The suckling is a positive sign.

Do the eyes appear to focus?

What kind of movement is there?

How much formula did it take?

The city im nearest. Has a cat ranch are over populated with cats. The pounds are no kills. I'm in Canada.
I'm in contact with a lady who rescues.for a place who offeres financial help for spade neuter. It is not known yet if I can be aproved for the spade neuter program. Which would be a blessing. It is expensive here. All vet care is. (Someone dropped the original momma cat here pregnant. We fed it. It disappeared and came back again pregnant. It disappeared again. )
since im outside the city i may not be able to get in the list fir aid.

Can you answer my questions in post #12?

We can discuss spay/neuter for the litter a bit later.

The kitten will need to see the vet. It will need antibiotics at the very least. It has suffered a traumatic head injury, and it may take some time to fully recover. There is clearly some neurological damage, and it may need its limbs massaged to encourage circulation. A head x-ray will show if there is a subdural hematoma. The kitten is showing good signs towards the possibility of recovery right now though.

Can you get the kitten looked at tomorrow?

I hope you can find a vet who takes payments. Mine does here in Florida.

Continue to hydrate the kitten tonight. Please give us an update tomorrow!

He's the same. Vet said its a wait and see game. They did all they could do. I'm thinking about putting it down.

That's sad.

How is the kitten doing? Did the vet put it on antibiotics? Is the kitten able to eat?

Do you think giving the kitten a few more days might make a difference? Kittens can be resilient.

I'm sure you'll make the right decision.
