Do cats have a runt of the litter last?

Cats do spot post-partum. It should not be heavy bleeding like a period, or hemorrhage, but drops, which should turn pinkish or brownish, lasting up to a week.

Many cats do pant for a day or two after delivery as their bodies adjust to nursing. Is she getting enough to eat? She may need a couple tablespoons of plain yogurt or a scrambled egg to shore her up some.

How much blood is there, and how bright red? I'm wondering if she may have a kitten stuck inside.

I have thought she was going o have another one this entire time which is why I came here to begin with. It was just like when she had the second baby that's why I thought there is another one this is a pic from the blood I found

That looks normal if it's all there is. Let me know if it becomes more.

Can you put her breathing in a YouTube video and put up the link perhaps?

I know that was your concern initially, and I'm sorry it was not adequately addressed.

In addition to the above, is the shallow breathing non-stop since yesterday, or does it come and go?

And do you have a vet nearby should you need one?

It seems to come and go which is why I thought maybe it was normal. But it seems to be more panting then not she also has kinda moved away from the babies and sitting differently She has been eating and drinking and feeding her babies. I also noticed she had gone to the bathroom.

And no vet really close we live in the country. Closest city 45 minutes

Okay. She sounds like she's okay. What you describe is how many cats are in the day or two following delivery. She may be sitting funny because she's having after pains or her bottom hurts. It sounds normal to me.

I usually recommend some extra calcium, through drinking commercially available kitten formula, or eating plain yogurt. This seems to help.

She should be okay by tomorrow. But please let me know if things get worse.

Thank you that makes me feel a lot better and I have some milk that you described kmr kitten milk I went and bought from the feed store in case she rejected the babies so I'd be prepared. She wants me around but does not want the boys around her which sucks because they are super excited about the babies. As am I. But reading so much over the last few days makes me think something is wrong. Ugh so stressful and I'm not the one who had the babies

Yes, please give her a dish of KMR. It will really help. Sometimes calcium deficiency can cause problems, and drinking the KMR daily will alleviate that.

It would be nice if cats could tell us! But from experience, it's similar to how we feel and do after having a baby - some cramps, bleeding, sore bottom, exhausted kind of thing.

You'll see a big difference in her 48 hours out.

I'll bet your boys are excited! Cat moms are super protective and really like their privacy. The babies have closed eyes and ears and cannot control their own body temps the first 3 weeks, so they are very dependent and helpless. When they begin to leave the nest and explore, mom will be happy for the boys to handle them and play with them!

My mama cat used to slink off upstairs for a big nap, and leave her babies with me to babysit when they were about 6 weeks old.

If you think she really needs more calcium, a more potent source than kmr or yoghurt or plain mild cheese, is needed. 

I too recommend these sources for everyday more calcium.

There are many commercial brands of added calcium, using different sources.  The perhaps easiest home made is to use crushed shells from boiled eggs.  You boil an egg.  Peel off the shell, and peel off the inner skin.  Crush the shell-fragments into a fine powder.      You dont need big amounts,  half a shell will be enough for at least one week.

You sprinkle a little of this powder on her usual food, just alike you salted it.  You can of course sprinkle more if need be.

So funny I made her 1/2 cup of milk and she drank it all in about two minutes. Never even stopped just drank it.

Lol yeah my own little farm. We are in Texas. We have chickens pigs rabbits and a cat now kittens. We are rescuing some baby raccoons who were abandoned and going to bottle feed them until they get bigger and then will relocate them. Just me and my three boys and a bunch of animals. The pigs were also rescued. They are doing good now. They weren't so good when we got them. It's a good learning experience for the boys to learn to care for something besides themselves. Teaches them responsibility

actually watching all of this unfold has been a very beautiful experience one I'm very glad I had the chance to be a part. I for sure wouldn't mind it happening again.

Aww! My brother had a pig farm in Tennessee for awhile. He has cows and horses now. I personally love goats.

And I'm a sucker for raccoons - feed them all the time. That's great the boys get to experience all this, and learn about bottle feeding and eventually releasing the wildlife.

I'm not surprised your kitty drank the milk. They usually love it, and so will the kittens at weaning time. It will help her to feel better too.

I'm pretty positive I'll get a goat next. But after I put a fence up for it. My yard is fenced but I'm gonna fence the back end of it off so they have a place to be without eating all my plants I've planted lol. We only have one acre so we can't have a cow otherwise I so would have a giant farm lol plus being a single mom and having a full time job with all the animals I have and an acre of land to keep up with plus the house all alone. I think I have enough.

Whew! You sure do! Are your boys old enough to help with the chores yet?
