My cat is about 6 weeks pregnant and she has fallen off the roof of my house!! I wasn't home at the time, I got back and a neighbour told me he had seen her fall off of the roof of the house onto the floor below. He couldn't really tell me much except she was meowing a bit afterwards. I've bought her inside and have been keeping an eye on her for the last few hours but I'm really worried. She seems OK in herself but will her kittens be okay from such a big fall? Should I get her straight to the vet? I don't want any harm to come to her or the kittens. Will I know if she has lost them? I'm freakish out a little bit

Hello, and I'm sorry this happened.

I would bring her to a vet for sure. Cats are excellent at hiding pain, and that's quite a fall.

She should also stay inside 100% from now until the kittens are weaned. If she delivers outside, you will not know if she or the babies are safe or healthy. She can also bring back disease and parasites to the nest.

Female cats can also get pregnant again within a week of delivery and without going into heat. She'll need to stay inside until she can be spayed when the kittens are 8 weeks old.

Please let us know what the vet says!

With a little luck, nothing bad happened.  The kittens are quite well protected, and in nature, preg cats do manage quite a much. Esp as they are an easy prey, so they must be extra sturdy.  Running, jumping, climbing, and sometimes falling down.

In fact, even human high preg women, if in good condition, may do quite a few feats.  Thus I know of examples of table tennis players, competitiove show jump riders, and even soccer-players whom played on elite niveu with visibly big tummies...   After  consulting with their doctors of course.

Next of course, its nothing to do home for most people. Here we do talk about women of extremy good shape and condition, used to rough training.

That said, if you DO have access to a good vet, the only safe bet is to go to himher for a good check up.

I'd recommend an x-ray or ultrasound, but hopefully the kittens were protected, as Stefan mentioned.

Mom may be sore from her fall.

If she begins discharging bright red blood she is likely miscarrying, and needs immediate vet care.
