Hi! I don't really have any questions or concerns as of yet. I have a pregnant cat who is just a baby herself at 9 months old. I greatly under estimated how quickly they can become pregnant. I will not make that mistake again. Anyhow, I honestly don't know how far along she is but it's got to be pretty far. No colostrum or nesting yet. I've educated myself as well as I can and am ready for her labor and delivery. Kittens are moving like crazy and have been for a week. Mama is content and so am I. Thanks for journeying in a positive manner with me. I'm new to this (pregnant cats and forums) and appreciate the companionship.

Welcome to TCS!

Sounds like you have another week or two at the most before she gives birth.  Do you have supplies yet?  Please do not wait to get some KMR, a scale and a needleless syringe.

I have the supplies you mentioned as well as others and several nesting boxes set up for her choosing. I have isolated her from her sister from same litter (who was spayed 1.5 week ago) because they're getting a little too aggressive with each other. What starts as licking/grooming one another goes from loving to hateful in 30 seconds flat the past few days.

2 questions today! Thanks in advance for your answers.

1. Why does she assume the mating position if I pet her near her lower back and tail?

2. She's developed a little bit of feline acne on her chin. Is there anything I can put on it while she's pregnant and will it likely clear up once her hormones settle?

1. Because it feels good

2. Can you post a picture of her chin?

Thx for answeri g question 1- simple and to the point!

This is the best I could do for a chin photo. Needless to say, she wasn't ready for her close-up. It's definetly not flea dander. She's not scratching it and doesn't seem to be bothered by it. I'm fine letting it be but would hate if it worsened for her.

No, it's just starting. You can use warm compresses. Keep it clean using mild soap and water. Use anything but plastic food bowls, as they tend to encourage bacterial growth that can get on the cat's chin.

Honestly, I recommend seeing the vet so it doesn't get worse. They can give you a topical ointment that is safe to use during pregnancy. Then, if it worsens, they can prescribe an antibiotic.

Jojo has officially reached blob state. Tiny bit of colostrum today and she's been burrowing in blankets and sheets which is new behavior for her. So excited!

My cat used to lie like that when she was full term. Takes the pressure off!

Jojo sincerely looks like she swallowed a football today. There's no better way to describe it. She's carrying in a much more condensed area. Like a tight vertical football and her body is horizontal. Thoughts, experienced ones?

She may have "dropped," which is when the kittens move lower in her body in preparation for the trip into the birth canal during labor. [emoji]128522[/emoji]

Kittens! We have kittens! About 45 mins into delivery now. 3 babies thus far. She acts like another is coming. She's doing everything perfectly and babies look great. How many placentas should I let her eat? She's eaten all 3 thus far.

I think they say 3 or 4. Any more than that and her tummy may upset. Congrats on the new arrivals! [emoji]128522[/emoji]

6 little squeakers thus far! I hope that's all for mama's sake. She's tired!
