My cat Finster had 6 kittens one almost died but survived. Last year my other cat Scotty had kittens my mom put food and water next to them and everything was fine. I did the same thing last weekend after they were born and I walked in today and I found one kittens head crushed on the side of the plate he/she was dead :'( My negligence killed it I don't what you can do for me but I'm incredibly traumatized and sad because of this.

How old are the kittens? Are the kittens nursing mama cat? Was the food and water for mama kitty?

I'm sorry about this. How do you think the head got crushed by a plate? Have you moved the plate now?

Awwww, I'm so sorry. We all make mistakes. We try our best but accidents do happen and unfortunately, sometimes we don't know the dangers of our actions until it's too late.
The mom will get up and leave the kittens long enough to eat and drink, so you don't have to put her food and water in with her and the kittens. So, if you haven't already done so, move it away from them. The only thing that should be near them is a blanket that they are lying on and the mom . Also, change the blanket if it gets wet.
Don't beat yourself up over it. Learn from it. We all goof up at times.

4.5 days old. Yes there all nursing including the one that passed. The food and water was for mama kitty. It's head was crushed up on the side of the plate, I'm thinking it was resting next to it and mama kitty came in layed down and her body crushed the kittens head into the plate.

I'm so sorry!  You can join pet loss . com (no spaces) and receive support from others there as well as here.  Sometimes it's really helpful reading other stories that are similar or even different than your own.  It makes you feel less alone.  I'm so sorry.
