5 DAY CONSTIPATION

Hello ! One of my kittens is having a major constipation problem. I knew something was wrong when he eliminated too much a few days ago. It looked like the size of a golf ball of poop. After that he just stopped pooping. It's been day 5 already and I'm starting to get really worried. He has a bloated belly and a tiny bit of poop is coming out every once in awhile. I don't see any signs of pain,energy or appetite loss. I've been trying to stimulate him but no luck he urinates just fine ! Any Ideas before I take him to a vet ?

At this point he needs to go to a vet NOW. There's not much you can do on your own once they're that blocked up. He probably needs an enema, poor baby. That he's still eating normally is a good sign, but it still sounds like he needs professional help.

How old is this kitten?

We have a new article on the topic of constipation. I absolutely agree that if he has not passed stools for so long he needs to be seen by a vet asap. Cats are good at hiding pain but if he is blocked, he could develop a secondary complication called megacolon. Your vet should be able to relieve his constipation and prevent that from happening.

I've taken him to the vet and he received an " Enema " it worked really well and I'm glad he's better now ! My only question is will he start to poop normal again ?

Can you please tell us how old this kitten is? There are things you can do to be proactive but it will depend on age.

He's 5 weeks old

Right now I have him drinking KMR Fomula . His doctor was telling me that now is a good time To start weening him. What should I start trying to give him ? And He's very energetic And was not it any pain I was just getting worried because I haven't seen him poop in a few days.
