Hello! I have a cat who I haven't had for long. She was abandoned by a military family. I rescued her and took her home. She has been to the vet and got all her shots and a well kitty check up. . She was suppose to be spayed a week after that appt but she got out:( I feel terrible for this and feel like a horrible pet owner. She got out March 10th and didn't come back until March 21st. I have no clue when she got pregnant but I can tell you things about her and her behavior so maybe you can clue me in to when she conceived. When she returned I called the vet and asked if I brought her in and she was pregnant what would happen when they went to spay her. He said they would terminate. I personally couldn't do that so I waited a few weeks and sure enough she was pregnant:( as soon as she has these babies and is able to be Spayed, she is going in for it!!

She is usually a very standoffish kitty, but this last week she hasn't left my side. She has dried white stuff around her nipples I noticed around last Thursday and on Monday I noticed milk coming from her teets. She is eating about half of what she usually does. She has taken to my closet and removed all clothing from my pj drawers and piled them into the nest I have made for her..

Also, I noticed she had this piece of white/yellow mucous chunk stuck to her lady bits. My question is, when do they get their milk in ?? I am just trying to figure out when she is due, so we can prepare. Thank you all so much in advance for any help. I am a scared catmommy!

She honestly sounds like she is due any time now!

It sounds like she has lost her mucus plug, and has her milk coming in.

Have you noticed ripples in her sides? If so, those would be contractions.

From what you are saying, kittens should be here within 48 hours.

How's she doing now?

I put a brand new litter box with litter in my walk in closet and she decided to take all the litter out and try to lay in it.. She's hilarious. I haven't noticed any rippling in her tummy other than once about an hour ago but I think my mind may play tricks on me because of how nervous I am!! Her belly is hanging very low to the ground as where a few days ago it was more at her sides if that makes any sense ?? I am fearing I am going to fall asleep and she is going to go into labor and be on her own:( I think I'll set up an alarm or something to glance in on her..she's moving around a lot tonight and usually she is very tired ..

She's trying to nest in the litter box. She's very close. Let her do her thing. You can always move kittens and mom later.

I think going to bed and setting your clock to check on her is a good idea. Cats usually manage quite well on their own though.

Hi and welcome!!

Thank you for taking in this little girl. These things happen. At least she has you to take care of her and he babies. I would not have been able to do that either.

How is she doing??

She's just lounging on my bed, making chirping noises like a bird. She has diarrhea today. Idk if that's an indication of anything but I have been keeping a little notebook of her behavior. Hopefully it happens this weekend. Then between me and my husband we can keep an eye on her consistently. She's not too happy with her food bowl. She keeps dumping it out, and covering the food and water with linens. Cats are hilarious.
