With a heavy heart, we had to send our Sweet Hurley over the bridge today.  He joined his brother "Morris" @ 11:45 on 5-10-2016. He was 16.
Hurley was the sweetest cat I have ever known. Not once can I remember him doing anything that needed correcting or a raised voice. I hope his super sweet disposition comes through in the picture below.

Our house seemed so empty this morning, it felt like "just a house".

He was actually the neighbors cat. Once they got him they realized someone in the house was alergic, so he was to live outside in their back yard. Then they got a dog and he lost his "Yard".  He would often come to our house and just sit on the wall, but would run if we tried to approach him. He was a neighborhood cat at that point.

We had two cats already, Morris and Balofur. Hurley would sneak in and finish their food after they were done.  A year or so past and we lost Balofur and Hurley began to hang around more and more.  One night we woke up to find Hurley sleeping on our bed with us.
From that point on...He was ours! Morris and Hurley were inseparable. Morris became Hurley's buddy and protector.

And now they are together again, for eternity.

Thank you Hurley, for letting us care for you and share your short time on this earth. I hope we made your life every bit as joyfull as you made ours.

I'm very sorry for your loss. He looks like a very sweet boy. Morris and Hurley are playing together again now. RIP Hurley.

The picture of the two of them is so sweet. Hurley sounded like a very special soul. I am certain that your love and care for him made him a happy boy RIP Hurley. Give your buddy Morris a few headbutts when you see him

I answered on your post on 'knowing when', it is still such a shock when it does come down to actually having to make that decision, and I cry that it came so soon.  Words cannot convey what each 'cat parent' goes through at times like these, I pray you can take comfort in your precious memories and know your precious Hurley is at rest now, for him it is over and for you the pain of loss is tearing at your soul. You gave him a wonderful home full of love and caring, he asked for no more.  He knew he was wanted and loved, that is all he ever wanted from life, and he gave you so much love and happiness in return. My heart goes out to you, try to remember he would never want you to be so sad when remembering him. I'll keep you all in my thoughts and prayers, you will be blessed for your loving heart......RIP dear Hurley, you will never be forgotten and will reside in a loving heart forevermore!

Thank you everyone. I can only hope to have another cat as sweet and polite as Hurley. I fear it's a once in a lifetime, but that may be enough.

I'm so sorry for the loss of your handsome Hurley.  I had just read your other post.  I'm glad that he found you.  I wish every cat could have such a loving and happy home.

This year has started out rough. We lost Morris in Jan and now Hurley. They both had very good, full lives. We always joked, if there is reincarnation, we want to come back as one of "our" cats.

Our lives seem so empty now, we have been taking care cats as part of our daily lives for over 20 yrs.

After long talks we decided we won't wait too long to get another cat or two. Funny thing is, they always seem to find us when they(we) need them most.

I also lost my Santiago on May 10, 2016. My heart is broken. I share your pain, Maybe Hurley and Santiago bump into each other crossing the bridge! They were both tuxedo cats, and Santiago was also the most gentle cat of all. Thank you for sharing and thank you for loving him.
