I just received a new kitten for Mother's Day. Her right pupil is opened larger than her left. She is a very feisty little one. It looks smaller today. What would cause this? She seems perfectly fine other wise.

A lot of things could cause it! It could be something congenital, but because you don't know if she's always had it or if it's recent she should get looked at by a vet to make sure it's not a sign of something that requires treatment. Congratulations on your new kitten.

It's more normal looking now. I've been praying for her. She is cute, but boy is she fiesty and does not want to be held. She has too much to do, lol:lol3:My daughter-in-law is going to trim her nails for me. She's been getting me good with those sharp nails. She will let me pet her and scratch behind her ears. She actually purred for the first time a bit ago. So she's warming up to me.

I'll have the vet check it when we go. Thank you.

Yes, definitely have the vet check her out. How old is she? She may also need vaccines and to be spayed soon.

We'd love to see photos!

She's 8 weeks old they told my son and daughter-in-law. I will be taking her for all of that. I was just wondering if anyone had ever had a kitten like this.

I tried to load her photo, but it doesn't appear. I don't know why.

Oh, she definitely needs to see a vet as soon as possible. That could indicate some serious issues. Can you take her in this week?

Where did you get her?

She's adorable. Thank you for seeing to her health.

I've had two cats do this as kittens only with both eyes very temporary, best to take to the vet.

Sweet baby..

My son and daughter-in-law got her for ME on Mother's Day. They saw a post for kittens that morning and went and got her.

The photo was when she first got here. Today it is almost the same size as her other eye. She won't sit still long enough for me to get another photo. I'll try tomorrow when I'll have better light.
