Hi my name is Shawn, about a year ago my wife took in a female stray. She ended up being pregnant, and had 3male and 2 female kittens. Then at about 3mos.she jumped out a window of our trailer.and got pregnant again. This time 7 kittens. So in total we ended up with 13 cats. 1mama. 5 8mo olds. And 7 1.5mo olds. Humane society can take limited amount of them if i take them for check ups. But i can't afford all the bills. So i posted a page on gofundme.com and am trying to raise the $ to get them shots, fixed, make sure all are okay. So they have a better chance at finding new homes. If you can't help out financially, advice of where else i can try and take them would be appreciated. Or if you are looking for a kitten or a cat, let me know they are all adorable and have great personalities.

GoFundMe

Thank you for any advice or assistance you can give

Hi, I just did a quick search since you have your location listed. You have an organization called All About Animals Rescue in your area. They run a clinic in Warren. These are two specials they have on their page:

Mom and babies Cat Litter Special– cats only – bring in mom and her kittens on the same day, while the kittens are 8 to 12 weeks old; weighing at least 2 lbs. – the mom is $40 and each kitten is $10 each.

Sterling Heights Michigan Low Income Residents – Must be low income and provide proof of residency – $10 cat spay/neuter, $25 dog spay/neuter, owned pets

http://www.allaboutanimalsrescue.org/specials/

586-879-1745

The 1 and a half month kittens and mom could probably do the first one soon and maybe you qualify for the eight month olds. I also always tell people to put "low cost veterinary care" in Google and local results should come up for you. Thanks for taking care of them

I would be happy to share more proof of the insanity that is my house. Also a new issue has developed with the youngest kittens, they all have snot looking goo forming on theyre eyes and faces. Have been wiping it with warm water on a towel to keep eyes from closing up. Any other options or advice would be appreciated, does anyone know of over the counter medicine for them?

Your welcome! You might want to take a look at this page, there is a chart if you scroll down some that compares the symptoms of the two most common kitty cold viruses - http://www.peteducation.com/article.cfm?c=1+2134&aid=210

I have experience nursing some of my ADULT cats through bouts of Upper Respiratory Infections (URIs) at home, but not kittens. It is more dangerous for kittens. Is mom sick too? Are there any other symptoms? Hopefully, if it is a URI you can get medicine for all of them without having to take all of them in to a vet. You could call All About Animals Rescue and ask them. I am also aware that it is also somewhat common for kittens to get eye infections, so it could be this too. Treats with Lysine in them could help them, I bought VETRI LYSINE PLUS BITE-SIZED CHEWS for my cats when they were sick, but there are other brands. People take it too, it helps to somewhat suppress viruses and it is mentioned in the article I linked to. It is probably best to keep the sick ones isolated and do what you can to limit it transferring germs to the other cats.

You could also create another thread in the kitten section of the forum to ask about what they could have, there are people here who have lots of experience with kittens.
