Where my cats are
Do your cats have a time of day when they are the most affectionate?

I have a new routine with Mooch lately.  She's my most affectionate cat.  She likes to be in my lap whenever I'm sitting on the couch.  She is still leary of the kids; even though she plays with DD.  So after the kids are in bed at night I settle down on the couch with her and my kindle and that's our time together.  I usually doze off that way before going to bed.  When I get up in the morning; she's usually on the blanket on the couch.  She will sit there and wait for me to come sit next to her for a couple of minutes.  She's one who drools when she purrs.  This morning she was slobbering all over my hand and just SO into getting her cheek and chin scritched.
I can't spend long with her then and the kids make their way out then too.  But boy she took advantage!

Noodles is different with her affection.  It's always on her terms.  And typically she is most affectionate at 3 am.  The girls don't sleep with us because of DH's allergies.  But if you happen to visit the bathroom; she may very well climb inside your pants and purr her little heart out.
She also likes to come into the bathroom when I get up in the morning.  I think it's mostly food motivated. But it's still funny.  Saturday morning she was in there and talking her little head off.  I mean really!!  Not just chips and purrs.  It was all out meows and she had a LOT to say.  I was cracking up!!  Her meow reminds me of a Siamese cat that belonged to a friends of my mother.  It's not quite as loud but you still can't miss it.  She can meow sweetly too.  But she really had something to say and I was going to hear it!  I was surprised DH and the kids didn't try to find out what the racket was.

Monet is most affectionate at night, especially in the middle of the night.. If I happen to wake up in the middle of the night and he knows it, he's immediately on my chest, purring and demanding snuggles.

Cassie is affectionate whenever I sit on the couch to watch TV- at any particular time of the day.

Mingo is most affectionate when he wants food. It's cupboard love, the only time I get head butts. He starts tuning up about an hour before mealtime. The little bugger is an extortionist.

Zoe's most affectionate in the mornings.  Her routine is to first go outside to go potty, then run back inside to have breakfast, then gallop down the hall to find me sitting at the computer, trying to read emails.  She jumps up on my lap and won't leave me alone until she's had enough petting and rubbing and head scritching, purring and drooling the whole time.

Ozzy loves to snuggle up at night.  He's snuggled up next to me right now in fact.

Rico is a daddy's boy and pretty much is affectionate with him 24/7.

And Hannah is full of tortitude--she's not super affectionate at any time.  But now and then, she'll acquiesce to some lap time in the evenings.

When I'm in the bathroom :lol3: Middle of the night also, that's when Oliver is most affectionate anyway.

Lucky was affectionate any time he was awake. There was no other way with him. Pea-Pea is very much the same way, ALWAYS affectionate. At first we thought she was in a very long heat (she went into heat right after we got her), and even after she was spayed, it seemed like she was in heat! But no, that was just her personality.

At night, just as we go to bed. Mollipop and I will go to bed, I'll lay on my back and put my left arm out. Molli hops in, walks up to my arm, and flops down. And there she stays, pretty much all night. She purrs, I rub her forehead and she purrs more. She'll clean my left cheek and knead my hair. It's just wonderful and I think it's relaxing for both of us. Soon she'll put both front paws straight out in front of her and over my shoulder. And her head will drop into my neck. Best feeling in the world. That's our time.

Honeybee on my lap, music playing in background
lets see=three kities and only 2 of us-often one is left out. And this is kind of lengthy-we have a strange setup-we don't sleep on the beds-they hog the bed-so we each have our own couch-floey and pumpkin face on her couch with Jon and Honeybee is on the couch with me. And we both have sleep apnea so my days of sleeping on a bed are over-and of course the cats hog the bed so no room.

pumpkin face is daddy's kitty-she sleeps on the couch with him all night (we made a double bed out of a couch-they hog the bed-no room=we sleep on the couch they push us off-so I got two large ottomens and pushed against couch and layer all the blankets across the entire surface-now the cats have room and room for daddy (he's over 6 feet tall-so sleeps kitty cornered so feet have room)

She climbs up on her spot at the end of the couch-he sleeps on the ottomans-they are actually pretty comfy-the things we do for our cats. Pumpkin also drools when you pet her-she hates laps but will curl right up against your tummy under the covers if its cold enough. Daddy snores and jerks around too much so once in awhile she scratches him-he snorts in his sleep and she rear wheel drives his tummy and takes off like a bullet. So now she sleeps by his feet-its not as loud..

Honeybee is always affectionate. She loves anyone who will pet her-usually she is affectionate for treats..daddy trained her to come in for treats all day long-she was an outdoor kitty and we don't feel its fair to keep her inside-so he says as long as he keeps her coming back for treats then she wont venture far-she goes out for 2 hours in the morning-sleeps on the bed at noontime then jumps on dad to let him know its time to let her out-she goes in and out the house all afternoon-almost always jumping on his lap and chirps/purrs at him.

At night-she snuggles with me..she has a fleece velvet blanket she makes biscuits on-face mashed into it drooling and the paws going like crazy-my first cat who makes biscuits=im in love with my kitty=this is our special time-after half an hour she passes out wherever she is on my chest-and her head falls onto my shoulder-and snoring...and paws on my arm...I hold her all night and kiss her whenever I wake up-which is often. I don't need blankets when she is ontop of me. she is quite the heater.

Floey=is only affectionate in the morning when its food time-she gets fancy feast with miralax and pumpkin-this is the only way to keep her regular. She headbutts my calves until the dish goes down. she loves being picked up-she is a huge furry maine coon-purrs super loud-you can hear it across the room. She wont sit on your lap but will lay on your feet. she is my door greeter unless Honeybee is inside-honeybee and her always fight over who is the highest-usually Honeybee wins=Honeybee is 4-5 and flo is 17? So for the past 3 years had Honeybee=Honeybee used to chase her out of the kitchen in the morning which quite frankly pissed off Floey who always gives Honeybee the legendary HISS! Honeybee usually wacks her and runs away. Its just play. Outside-Floey chases honeybee. But now they have an argreement-Honeybee stays in the kitchen window meowing to get the window open so she can sit on her perch that daddy built her. Floey stays down by my feet.

So each kitty is affectionate outside-they all kind of follow me around to get pets when I am working around the yard. Floey will lay near me in the grass and Honeybee zooms around teasing Floey to chase her. Floey just ignores her...and Floey doesn't mind me picking her up and I carry her with my arms under her belly-she likes me walking around the neighborhood carrying her like this. She purrs the entire time...Honeybee also likes to be carried. She likes to have her arms on my shoulder and my arms hold her butt. Tail swishing the whole time-including meows to let her down. But then she runs back and rubs against my ankles=repeat=pick her up-she meows to let her go..purring too.

I could go on and on..

Other than at mealtimes? :lol3::lol3::lol3: Mogli likes to cuddle (and play) in the evening and sleeps with us at night. He usually wants hugs when I get home from work, too.

...with the cats...
for our jaspurr, it used to be in bed during the night, but the girls would see him get snuggled in with me and want to join him/us. so now my boy likes to curl up in my arms or on my lap during the day, while i'm at the computer.

little deedee loves affection, a true affection-seeker.
all through each day and night, she'll want affection on and off -- from both me and from our jaspurr.

our punkin loves being brushed --anytime of the day or night!
she also loves snuggling under the blankets with me in bed, though not that often. punkin occasionally will jump up on my lap, and isn't totally comfortable being held though we're working on that. i guess she's more of an 'on her terms' affection seeker.

Usually late afternoon for Abby. She will hunt me down and let me know it's lap time.
