I take her in at 130 and hoping it is nothing too serious because I want her to make it and have a fighting chance. We plan on keeping both of them so there is no concern on rehoming. Now to just hope I can get her to eat more today. Ill update after the visit
Lets hope the vet is good with small kittens. Not all are - so dont be too disappointed if the try is in wain.  Just hope for the best!

Well the vet had some good news! The white one has a good strong heart beat and she's not too worried about her, just said it at take her longer to show progress especially since it's up in the air on how long she was without milk and heat. As for the twitches that goes back to how long she was without milk/ heat and it may have caused some slight damage. I feel so much more relieved hearing that! Unfortunately they didn't get weighed so I'm still on the lookout for a scale. I now have happy kitties, and one very happy little boy!

This is great news! Made my day! [emoji]128149[/emoji][emoji]128062[/emoji]

I do wish she'd been weighed though. This would help me to know how much she needs to eat each day to thrive. Who do you know with a kitchen scale?

I'm hoping my grandpa has one, but I'm about to post on Facebook and see if anyone else I may know has one. But the vet said to feed whenever their hungry, and give as much as they'll eat.I was also sent home with some liquid replacer to use.

Awesome!

Yes, they should eat as much as they want, but there is a minimum they must eat in order to thrive. That's what we need to know.

Have you been using the powdered formula? I don't recommend the liquid, especially not for the white kitten. It can cause stomach upset and diarrhea. We've had numerous kittens get sick on it, and get better when they switch to powder.

I would not recommend that you switch right now. If you absolutely must use it, you'll need to dilute it some with water. I hope you don't need to though.

I'm confused, I shouldn't use the replacer the vet gave me? She told me to use the liquid for now to help the white kitten especially and then switch back to the powder. The weight for the black one was shifting betwen 5.7 and 6 oz she wouldnt sit still even when I tried feeding her on it. And the white one is coming at 4.25 oz

She gave me PetAg Esbilac. I tried uploading a photo but for some reason it's not working.

Yes, perhaps the vet gave you something special.

At 4.25 ounces, the white kitten needs 34 mLs per 24-hour period. So, if you feed every 2 hours, she needs 2.83 mL's. You divide 34 by the number of feedings.

The little boy needs 48 mLs per 24 hours, divided by number of feedings. If every 3 hours, for instance, he needs 6 mLs each feeding.

Remember, these are minimums. They can have more!

Well according to that they've been reaching the minimum goal, actually the black one may be going over a bit because he last feed she downed about 10 ml. I have been using just regular Petag powdered replaced I got from Walmart.

I don't want to tell you not to follow the vet's instructions, but the white kitten may not like it, and it may upset her tummy.

They are actually doing well then eating-wise! This is great!

Can you call the vet back and ask why they gave you that formula? I would really hesitate to change her diet now.

It says puppy replacer and has a puppy on it but vet said it had everything the kittens needed as far as vitamins and minerals goes. Now I'm super sketched out on if I should give it to them. She made it sound like it was the better option because they're so little and will help the white one get over the hump so to speak.

It won't have taurine in it. Cats need taurine for neurological development. Puppy milk and kitten milk are different. I would recommend sticking with the powder. Strange that she gave you puppy formula.

I double checked the ingredients on it and it does lack taurine so the dog got it! Ill just stick to the powdered formula, I have absolutely no idea why she would and thinking about calling another vet to see if they would recommend puppy replacer and why. I went to a local vet that was recommended for being the best around for cats, starting to think I should have gone to the vet I take the dog to.

I agree! I think the vet should have weighed the kittens too. It can't hurt to go to another vet.

Anyway, I feel better that you're not changing her formula.

Yeah I thought it was weird but I have next to no expierence with cats so I had no idea what to expect. Now dogs, that's my jam, and our dogs vet is absolutely awesome with him, so I'm gonna give her a call in the a.m. since their closed now and see what she says. But I still feel much better knowing there isn't anything seriously wrong with the white one, and if she develops any problems (vet warned she may not have normal cat acting moments due to lack of proper nutrition/ heat) that's okay we will love her all the same.
