Hello!

I'm fostering 3 out of a litter of seven kittens whose mother couldn't feed them.  Mom is now being cared for at the vet and is much healthier and got spayed. My question is what is a safe flea medication to use on kittens this small? Or is there one?  They are about 1.5 to 1.7 lbs. I have kitten Revolution but it says they need to be 2 lbs.

Thanks for any advice!

bathe the kitty in a warm room with blue dawn dish soap and use a flea comb. make sure to keep the kitten warm and this should take care of the problem.

Thank you! Fortunately all three like warm baths. I had to bathe them when they had diarrhea. I need to get a flea comb.  I will post a pic of them - they are beautiful and very unique in color.

oooo, they are gorgeous! they look like they have fever coats which means they will most likely turn all black but it would be awesome if their coats stayed that way!

Aha, is that what you call that color?  Yes, the head of the rescue group said they will eventually turn solid black.  She has a solid black long-hair adult male who looked like this as a kitten.  One of the females has solid white toes, chest and tummy so that will stay white but the others will darken in a couple to three months, I think!  Oh, how I wish they would stay this beautiful, unusual color
But whatever color they end up, we will find good forever homes for them.  Two of the seven have already been pre-adopted by a fantastic couple - who do in fact know that they will be black and are FINE with it.

Mom is doing much, much better. You must have this mama kitty confused with another. She had no bowel problems that I know of.

Oh, not serious at all.  I only saw one flea and the other day actually picked one off of one of them so that may have been it - knock on wood!  I have three cats of my own (one and 2 seven year olds) and they have all been treated with Cheristin.  But I'm keeping a close eye on them because I DON'T want an infestation.  Ugh, that cycle is a tough one to battle!

Oh, yeah, then I definitely think combing them and washing the bedding every day should do it. Good luck!

i believe they are called that because their fur turns that color in reaction to an infection the mother had while pregnant. strange but beautiful!
