Whats wrong with the kitten's eyes??

My friend found an orphaned kitten yesterday, she bathed him, fed him, and he seems healthy and strong with the exception of his eyes. He seems to be about 3-4weeks old but his eyes still arent open, and there seems to be something wierd in it, any ideas of what it is and how to treat it?

Thank you for taking this little one in. He has an eye infection, and needs to see a vet as soon as possible for an antibiotic eye ointment.

How often and what are you and your friend feeding him? Are you helping him to pee and poop?
