Some please help we don't see the vet until Tuesday. I adopted a homeless 10 month old kitten 4 weeks ago. She is an indoor cat since moving in with us and has never been outside. She was very small and underfed before us so when she started gaining wait I thought it was a good thing but I think I took in a pregnant cat. She has been gaining wait so fast and I swear I felt movement in her stomach. It almost seems like lumps inside of her stomach. She only lays on her back. I am almost positive she is pregnant but I just noticed today. I need to figure out if she could be going into labor like soon. Her nipples are so swollen please look at the photo

Hello, and welcome. She certainly does look pregnant, and if she was outside and isn't yet spayed she probably is.

The vet will be able to confirm for sure, but I would start feeding her dry and wet kitten food now. She needs all the nutrition she can get. She can eat as much as she wants.

Have you felt any kitten movement yet? I think she has another few weeks left.

She looks pregnant to me!
Now is the time to read up and prepare :)
She could have anywhere from a week to several weeks left but a vet could tell you much more accurately!
There's tons of info on here and welcome to the site :) I just joined a few days ago and I'm sure you'll find it as nice as me :)

She is clearly pregnant, poor gal. She's probably been starving. Thank you for taking her in. Please feed her as much as she wants! She needs it. She probably mated on her first heat.

Her nipples look chapped and irritated to me. Can you apply olive oil to them to offer relief? You can also purchase Udder Balm, which is excellent and non-toxic.

The fact she's licked the fur away already tells me she may be further along than you think. I would estimate she has two weeks left. I'm glad you are taking her to the vet soon. Please ask for an x-ray or ultrasound to determine how many she is having and how developed they are. This will help you to know how long she has left. She will need de-worming and de-fleeing. No vaccines for a pregnant cat!

Please make a nest for her in a good-sized bin or box with blankets, preferably in a closet, where it's private, and show it to her. Put her food, water, and litter box nearby, to encourage her to nest there when her time comes.

Please buy a can of powdered PetAg KMR to have on hand for the kittens, and give mom a dish a day for the calcium. You'll want a small 1-2 mL syringe in case you need to supplement the kittens. Pick up a digital kitchen scale to weigh the kittens when they are born. They need to gain 6-10 grams a day, usually they gain much more! Scales at Walmart.
