My cat (Kat) is ready to have her babies any day now but I'm terrified. I'm so stressed , I'm not sleeping. I'm literally just starring at her at like 4 a.m secretly stalking her around the house to check on her. It's making me quite ill now.can anybody give me any reassurance?.

Ok, a few things.

1. Can you definitely keep her inside and away from intact males until she gives birth and weans the kittens? She can get pregnant again within a week of delivery.

2. Have you set up nests for her?

3. Have you purchased kitten supplies? A scale? Kmr? A needleless syringe?

She has a nest set up ready. The outside is out of bounds until she's been neutered. I've purchased some formula little kitten bottles cotton wool bottles of water piles of towel scales. Newspapers clean bedding. . And the vets phone number ..Not sure if I'm missinga anything.

I'm just really nervous. Will she want me with her?.or should I leave her alone I've never had a pregnant cat before. Always neutered before coming home. So this is new territory for me

Try to relax. She will let you know if she wants you with her. You'll know by her actions. Cats are very good at letting their humans know what they want. Trust me! [emoji]128522[/emoji]

She will be able to tell if you're stressed and that will stress her.  Put on some calming music for yourself.  Classical is recommended for calming cats.

Just take it easy!  Cats have been delivering their kittens for thousands of years and you will find that your cat will instinctively  know what to do!    However you should be with her so that if anything appears to go wrong, then you can take veterinary advice.   This is most important.
