Does anybody have a fruit infused water pitcher? I bought one today. I had been thinking of trying something to try to wean myself off diet Mt Dew and thought of this. A kitchen store had on for not quite $20 and I decided to try it out. I have orange slices in the fruit rod now and the pitcher is filled with water. Supposedly, you only replace the fruit in the rod once a week; I'll see how that goes, but may end up replacing it more often. Going to try a mixture of lemon and orange slices next time. And Rick wants me to try unsweetened iced tea with lemon slices.

What do you think? Opinions? If it will help me give up the diet Dew while helping me to drink more water, maybe it will be worth it?

Yes, I have seen these and really want to try it.  I love the idea of the water having an aroma while drinking..  I bring water to work in a simple bottle sometimes with a few frozen raspberries in it or a sprig of mint, but you can't keep the mint in too long I find, it will become bitter.

@Winchester, the citrus slices sound wonderful and I too now  would like to buy this.
I would probably be changing the fruit more often because I would be wanting to try so many things.  Does this sound strange, but I would like to try a fruit with cucumber slices, maybe honeydew?  Definitely the citrus slices, maybe grapefruit and lime too?

Now you have me thinking.........

I once stayed in a hotel that had coolers of fruit-infused ice water in the lobby. . .mmm. It was in Florida which made it especially refreshing :D. I like citrus (any kind) and mint; berries don't taste right and I really dislike cucumber water. . .not sure why that seems popular right now, ugh. Melon sounds intriguing, but I've never tried it.

I've considered getting an infusion picher but most of the time I don't like to drink cold water so there wouldn't be any point :/. If you don't keep it in the fridge the fruit goes bad too quickly.

Lemon-infused iced tea sounds good though. . .hmm. . .:lol3:

I like it. I had some water after my treadmill workout this morning as I was really thirsty for something cold. The orange-infused water is really quite good. I don't know that I would like cucumber water either, to be honest. I currently take a large container of chipped ice to work in my lunch bag and then throw it into the freezer of the fridge I have under my desk. Then after I come back from my walk, I get the ice out, add a can of diet Mt Dew, and drink it. It has to be really cold. I'm planning to do that my water now instead of the soda.

Trying to increase my water intake. And get away from the diet soda. The problem with that whole idea, though, is that I'm sure I'll be spending even more time in the bathroom than I do now....and that's not necessarily a good thing.

Rick and I are thinking of starting the Flat Belly diet on Monday and one of the things you do is to drink one gallon of iced water throughout the day. Lots of time in the bathroom!

I infuse my water with fruit and vegetables a lot.  I don't have a special pitcher.  Adding fruit and vegetables to water to give it flavour has been done for decades or centuries; they didn't need a special pitcher ;)

I just add what I want to the water and when I want it removed i use a slotted spoon or one of those spider utensils.

Things I add:

Cucumber

Orange

Lemon and/or lime

Strawberries

Raspberries

Carrots

Celery

Fresh herbs.  Many like mint, I'm not a fan.  Though cucumber and mint together isn't bad.
