My cat Rick will get these real bad spots where he itches until he bleeds and gets scabs all over. He's been to the vet a few times and they say it's not a big problem. We've tried all different kinds of food to see if anything helps and it seems the blue buffalo basics duck and potato food might help. I'm wondering if anyone else has seen something similar happen and had any remedies? Thanks

Oh my goodness!  That looks awful.  I would really recommend bringing him to a different vet that will take this seriously.

Have you tried a limited ingredients wet food like Nature's Variety Instinct or Merrick? What about raw or homecooked? It is true that food allergies show up on the skin first. That looks so uncomfortable I would seek a second opinion from another vet if your vet isn't giving you ideas to cure it.  I would be very diligent about feeding high quality wet or raw food with just meat and as little fillers as possible. I would avoid kibble at all costs.
