I wouldn't feed any of those. If you can't afford a high quality kibble then don't feed kibble and stick to lower quality wet foods. Cheap kibble is loaded with unhealthy fillers cats don't need that can trigger health problems. The reality is good quality food isn't cheap. Here's a list of kibble's that I think are decent, although IMO I wouldn't feed any kibble other than Orijen.

You want to make sure when choosing a cat food it is high in protein from meats (Chicken, Duck, Turkey, Rabbit) and low in carbs (Potatoes, rice, etc)

I would choose a grain-free diet, just because corn, wheat, soy, any of that is harder for cats to digest.

If money is an absolute issue, try to get a more higher quality wet food along side the dry. Your cat should be getting 8oz of water a day, no exceptions. Wet food is high in moisture and should always be in your cats diet. An all dry diet can cause kidney problems and teeth problems, as well as UTI which the cost of a balanced nutrition always is better than the cost of a 200-1000$ vet bill.

The cost of food varies from place to place. I buy my cat food online because it's cheaper and I get my wet food at a local store at $1.05 a can.

The first ingredient should always be a meat!! Hope this helps! [emoji]128522[/emoji]

I have been feeding Blue Baffollo Indoor Kitten Turkey Grain Free since I bought my babies home. They eat them when they are hungry. However I noticed they have eaten less since I have added a wet food meal (Two meals a day. One 3 oz can a time) I have tried other dry food but they didn't seem liking them. I don't know what to do. They may not get enough food. Do I need to switch to all wet food diet?

My cats love the Purina Muse Charmed With Chicken recipe it has chicken as the first ingredient and is grain free. The also get to share a 5.5 oz of Friskies Indoor canned cat food every morning. One has a Sensative stomach but tolerates these foods. I only feed the baked sea food sensation Friskies once a week. I heard fish is bad for cats cause of the Mercury. Purina muse doesn't have fish meal in it like a lot of dry foods do.:vibes:

Canned food is more filling than dry food so your kittens probably don't need to eat as much. How old are the kittens? Generally you want to feed growing kittens as much as they want to eat. One 3 oz can twice a day may not be enough.

A 100% canned food diet is best
You can leave a little dry food out for snacking on if you want. Some people do this.

They are ten months old now. They are indoor cats. I sometimes feed my meat leftover as their dinner, they seem liking it but take a long time to eat. (I means, they come, eat, walk away, come back, eat a little, walk away, come back later, finish) So I am not sure if I should add a can of food to the (human) food feeding. And, I don't know if they are hungry or not.

Thank you for your reply.

Be carefuly with your leftover dinner. Seasonings like garlic and onion are harmful to cats. It's best to feed plain cooked meat, like poached or boiled in plain water. And meat needs to be kept to less than 10% of the diet (aka treats)  if you are also feeding regular cat food. This will prevent an unbalanced diet.

If you wish to feed meat as a bigger part of the diet, you need to add supplements to make the meat a complete balanced diet. You can find tips and reources on how to do this with both raw meat and cooked meat here: http://www.thecatsite.com/t/263955/helpful-resources-raw-home-cooked-cat-food-forum

If the cats aren't constantly screaming for food, then their tummies are likely happy. Most cats will tell you when they are hungry
Two or three meals a day works for  many cats. Your current two meals a day with some dry food seems fine. As long as the cats are in good health and aren't really skinny I wouldn't worry too much about their diet.

Invariably your mileage will vary, depending on your pet's tastes and your own budget.

My gal is not a big eater but will consume just about any brand of cat food.  I've avoided dry brands wherein corn is the lead ingredient.  Of the three you mention I would prefer Purina's Beyond variety.  Beyond is a step or two up in quality.  It is certainly head and shoulders above Whiskas, which is also a Purina brand.  There are "No Grain" versions of Purina Beyond.  Beyond does command a higher price but you can find discounts at the supermarket and pet shops.  Also, Purina often offers discount coupons online.

Another affordable dry brand that many people have had good experiences with is Rachael Ray's Nutrish, which in my area sells for about the same as Purina Beyond, usually slightly less.  Finally, Purina One is a decent mass market variety that is reasonably priced.  Purina One Kitten Formula has a very high protein content (40%).  Purina One Kitten Formula can also be fed to adults.

It is best to avoid varieties that contain minimal protein (compared with grains and vegetables).  In the long run, your cat will more likely retain its health if you avoid stuff like Whiskas, Meow Mix, Cat Chow and the like.  It works for some people, but for many others the cost savings are wiped out by eventual poor health and and veterinarian bills.

Just wanted to mention FYI there's a $3.00 off coupon in every bag of Purina Muse for your next purchase.
