We have a neutered 1.5 year old male cat that tends to be hyperactive in general (in addition to two other 1.5 year old cats from different litters, a male and a female - neither hyperactive).  But lately he has taken to jumping up and hitting/scratching the tv screen when we are watching a show or my husband is playing video games.  We can't figure out a way to make him stop, nothing has worked so far.  We put sticky tape on the TV stand so at least he doesn't jump on the stand, but he is a very high jumper and will still attack the screen.  We have also bought the Feliway plug in diffuser hoping that would calm him down but that doesn't seem to work either.  We have tried distracting him with toys, clapping/'NO!", putting him in another room, giving him pets/attention, etc.  I don't know what to do from here because we obviously don't want him to ruin the TV and we are very frustrated.

Do you have cat trees or other cat furniture for your cat to use? If he is attracted to the TV  this may be difficult to prevent. My cats did this both of curiosity and boredom. Mounting the TV to the wall (rather than keeping it on a stand) worked for me.You could try putting cat furniture near where the TV is and see if it helps too. I found that most of the problem went away when the TV was up higher so this would be the first thing I would suggest.
