We started giving him cat lax. Then heard about Egg lecithin. I was giving him 1/2 capsule a day. Some weeks are better then others. But he was still throwing up hairballs. I tried giving he it twice a day or once a day and twice every other day. If im not mistaken he throws up more when I give him more and no hairballs. I even gave home cat lax and egg lecithin. He hates to be brushed. What else works for your cat and hairballs? Ive read more fiber in their diet and canned food?

Have you tried the Greenies hairball control treats for cats? My Basil was throwing up hairballs 3-4 times a week and also had diarrhea. I now give him 14 pieces each evening (per the instructions based on weight). Basil loves the treats. They have really helped. Now he throws up a hairball maybe once a month.

They are small, maybe the size of a sunflower seed. I buy them at Petsmart for $2.50 for a 2.1 oz. bag. You can order them online too. They get excellent reviews. You should definitely try them.
