Hello!

I am fostering three bottle babies (7 weeks old now) and there are two females and one male. I've had them in the same pen in my office. They are bottle fed every 5-6 hours (kitten milk replacer mixed with wet kitten food). Just now one of the females was "nursing" on the male. I now have him in a separate pen.  Isn't there a way to make a "cover-up" out of a small sock with openings for the back legs and tail to prevent this -- and he can be back with his sisters?  Thanks for any help!

The better solution is to give them something else to suck on. A covering for him won't stay sanitary for long. Try a blanket with a corner dipped in kmr.

I have put him in a pen by himself so they won't bother him.  He's got plenty of room, litter box and bed and toys.  Best solution I could think of.  Thanks!  Good point about being sanitary, etc.  Much better for him to use the box!

He also needs to be around his siblings. Try giving the girls an alternative.

When my boys turned 11 weeks old, the one suddenly decided to start suckling his brother's armpit. They are almost a year old, and to this day, Oscar still occasionally gets into that "trance" (I swear, that's what it's like) and start suckling his Oliver's armpit. It's much easier to get him to stop now, and he only does it in the middle of the night. Hopefully you're able to get your girls to break that habit completely!
