Hi ,i have noticed that Misha is on the litter box for a long time ,but there is no result ,just a few drops .

I have 2 litter boxes ,one with wood pellets the other with clay clumping litter ,i have different litter because Callie won't use the wood pellets Misha will use both of them .

Don't know if he has any trouble passing solids ,ever since he can go outside he goes there .

Booked him in at the vets on Thursday ,Callie has to go at the same time for a shot.

Good for you for noticing this! Misha may have a UTI or blockage. Can you get to the vet before Thursday? I don't want to scare you but if it is a blockage, this is an urgent situation. If you tell your vet what is going on, they will do their best to get Misha in right away.

I agree it would be better to get Misha to the vet today if possible. If she has a UTI there is a risk she will stop using the litter box from the pain. One of my cats had a UTI and let me know by peeing on a chair in my den. Once he was treated things went back to normal.

My cat was doing the same thing. When I took Sonny to the vet the first thing she did was make sure he was not blocked then tested for the UTI. He got an antibiotic injection and the infection cleared up.

Hi ,saw him drinking water from his dish 3 times yesterday ,he has never done that before .

At the moment he is on the window sill sunning himself and Callie is on the sideboard nearby doing the same .

Gave Misha the first lot of stuff the vet gave me ,mixed it with some wet food and he scoffed the lot .

Lately when he is eating wet food if i stand near him he starts to growl ,but if i bend down to him he is fine.

I'm so sorry to hear that Misha is not getting better. So glad you made sure he went back to the vet immediately. Have they done a urinalysis to check for urinary crystals?

Hi, they are going to phone me later today they might have done one by them ,he adopted the spraying stance while he was in the vets wash basin and a little bit of urine come out ,the vet said that was a good sigh that he was able to pass urine ,but it wasn't a great amount .

I think i made a mistake in getting Callie so soon  ,took her out in our little back yard on a harness she wasn't impressed with the great outdoors and rush back inside ,might try again later.

Be sure to ask if they have run a urinalysis and if they did do one: were there urinary crystals present? Many cats (mine included) develop these crystals which at best cause inflammation of the bladder and at worst can cause a blockage, making it impossible for the cat to urinate. There are other things than can be causing Misha's problem (UTI etc) but urinary crystals are a common cause to what Misha is expirencing so it's a good idea to ensure that Misha's urine is evaluated for them so he can be treated appropriately. Urinary crystals are caused by a variety of factors: diet and water intake are among the most common. Hang in there...you got Misha to the vet quickly which is in his favor....they will get him fixed up and back home!

I agree with the other kind folks that recommend you get your cat to the vet quickly.  He may be blocked and this is serious.  My cat developed crystals and after many days in hospital, he reblocked time after time.  So, I made the decision to save his life with a sex reassignment.  This was two years ago...and he is doing very well.  He is now on a high moister wet cat food and I give him bottled water.  In the end, and although the surgery was expensive, he is so worth it!

Good luck with your family member and do get him to the vet today.  Cats go down hill fast with this condition and it is painful for them.

I agree about making sure a urinalysis was done. Crystals can also be a part of a UTI. My cat had a very small amount of crystals in his urine do to the UTI and when he went back for his follow-up appointment both the UTI and crystals were gone completely. The vet gave him an antibiotic injection and he was back to normal in less than two weeks. I hope Misha feels better soon. It is great that you got her into the vets right away.

What a sweet little face [emoji]128571[/emoji]. I'm hoping that Misha rebounds quickly from whatever is going on. Can't say enough how important your attentiveness to what was going on with Misha was. Please keep us posted on how he is doing.

So glad you got Misha to the vet quickly. My cat, Harry, has had problems with crystals and getting blocked. He is actually having the PU surgery today to hopefully eliminate this from happening again. Be sure to ask your vet about a special diet if they do not bring it up. Good luck and keep us updated!
