So I just picked up my girlie from the vet, and they gave the normal instructions, no crazy activity, keep the collar on, etc, etc. But for one, she is already jumping everywhere. (I don't have a small room in my apartment that I can keep her in, and she gets very upset if she's alone and knows I'm in the apartment) What I'm more worried about is that she has almost gotten her E-collar off twice. I'm super worried about what she's going to do when I'm asleep, but also at work (I'm doing extra hours because we're shorthanded).

I've never dealt with a spay/neuter myself (always when I was younger, and my parents were in charge). This is my first pet after moving out, and I'm the fretful pet parent that is afraid of everything she does. If I could get some tips about helping her keep calm and keep the collar on, that would be lovely.

I have had MANY cats spayed and have never used a collar. It would be impossible on the feral cats anyway. They lick the area but have never done any damage. If she gets TOO upset, I would think she is doing more damage by trying to escape the collar, you might take it off and monitor her after calling your vet. There is also the possibility she might get used to it, watch her carefully, only you can tell. Cats usually don't do more then the pain will allow, mine have always jumped on the couch, etc, and seemed no worse for the wear. Spaying is a much more in depth operation then neutering, they take several days to recover, although I have had a few act normal from day one. Watch the incision, if it oozes anything other than clear liquid, or maybe a little blood,  gets hot to the touch and swollen, or separates much, call your vet right away, Sometimes the incision might separate a small amount in a small area, (not the whole incision!) or it may get a lump under the incision, that is normal, the lump is from the swelling and stitches that are inside. Just make sure she is drinking plenty of water and is eating, both good signs of healing. You may have to tempt her with treats or something tasty to her for a while, she needs nutrition to heal. Thank you so much for your care and getting her spayed, it has saved her from a future full of rough toms, nasty hormonal ongoing swings, has lessened the possibility of several cancers, and spared her the possibility of tragic trouble in giving birth. You have given her a MUCH better life! All the luck and keep us posted!

Yeah, I knew from the day I got her that I wanted to spay (my family has always spayed/neutered after a surprise pregnancy from our first cat). I'm hoping that the spay will also help her with her crazy outbursts, which I'm always afraid will hurt her, since she's always trying to jump to places she cannot reach.

I've found that putting her in her carrier on my lap helps her relax a bit, and she doesn't have the room to fight the collar, but I can't keep her in there forever, since it's only a travel carrier.

She tries to get at her incision through the collar, so I don't think seeing how she does without it is an option, at least for the first day. I might see if she'll sleep in the carrier tonight and maybe that'll help her get used to the collar.

Here's hoping she pulls through without too much drama!
