Aww, poor Mysti.

She sounds like my black lab dog, when he was a puppy and would throw 'puppy tantrums' when he was in his crate. Had to cover the crate with a bed sheet/blanket, and sleep beside him.

Then when I'd sneak off, he'd wake and start crying again. I couldn't take it. I gave in, and slept by him on the couch...until he was harness/leash trained.

When was this above photo taken?

Can you toss a small towel, or t-shirt towards the cats when they are playing too vocally?

Or even a scrunched up piece of paper.

Just see if they will stop and be distracted by it?

That was today. Heres another taken about an hour ago.
Ive thrown countless throw pillows, throw blankets... they do separate but not for long. Since they woke up from this last nap they seem to be playing fairly nice.

Do you plan to have the second lady spayed soon? I agree that it will help.

Yup, totally agree with the above.

(strange thing, here, is that they don't spay/neuter until 5 months...which is odd, since I did read that other places spay earlier...so I asked and was told it was due to weight and anesthetic.)

I would not have believed that Gypsy and Mysti give you such a hard time, during the day, and then look like this.

How can such cute kittens, act like such loud 'cage match' fighters.  What did "Handsome Kitty' say...'earplugs are good'. Maybe 'head phones' with soft music playing.

I think they will become quieter, but will have to be 'reprimanded' with that 'ehh' sound...a lot.

Still, remember to touch their paws, toes, tails, everything...so they get the message that at no point is biting human hands allowed.

Not even when acting so cute, and cuddly. The 'owww' has to be high pitched and you'll have to pretend you are slightly hurt.

Will they chase scrunched up paper balls?

Mysti will be spayed in June. We are going on vacation this month, and I'd like to be home during her recovery.
Yes, they will chase paper balls.
Theyre both in my bed right now... one on the right side of my thigh and the other laying on both my thighs. Acting like little angels. Im guessing theyve figured it all out now lol. They griped a little bit between that last nap and this one, but they were definitely playing more quietly... they were even both under a blanket with part of it hanging between them, pouncing at each other.

Sounds good.

There'll be Tons of entertainment, with new 'kitten invented' games happening. (making a bed will be fun, with two cats trying to help.)

I had to learn not to lay down, anywhere, until checking for 'cats under the covers'. One of mine likes to hide there.

I still love that 'growly purring' or whatever that is, from the crate video. It sounds like a huge wild cat, but with a 'rolling growl'...almost like an pidgeon, or bird sound.

Sorry to be late in catching up with this, but I have had a very hectic 24 hours. But I agree, this is play, a little rough but I have seen worse. The key is to see that both of them want to wrestle - both play at being the chaser and chased. And they both stop at the same time for a break if something takes their attention. They certainly are happy sleeping and cuddling together, and there is no real hurting going on.

I'd say we are nearly there. Last night they were both in my bed, and Mysti was chasing Gypsy's tail, and Gypsy was chasing Mysti's tail... it was the cutest thing!

They were together all night and I never heard anything concerning... this morning they are taking turns hiding and pouncing each other... a couple times they've both hid and pounced each other at the same time.

So much cuteness! I'm glad we didn't rehome Mysti!

Ok. I know I am going to get a lot of "dislike/disagree" posts but I am all for letting them figure it out them selves. As long as no one gets hurt. Cat social hierarchy is not the same as ours. One is going to be dominant and we usually want everyone to be nice and equal.
What they want is what you get. I think (and this when the disagree posts come in) the more you interfere the longer it will take.

There is nothing wrong in what you say. As long as neither of them is consistently getting hurt, and I don't see that here. Yes, one of them will probably end up dominating the other, but that is normal in cat society. Kittens need to play-fight, it is how they learn to socialise with each other without going too far, but also learning what does hurt and what doesn't.

Okay I'm a relatively new cat owner but I just thought could you possibly distract them by playing with them if it gets too rough? My two cats are suckers for feathers on a wand so whenever it gets too rough I can usually distract them that way and as there kittens it should be quite easy as they just love to play and jump! I am new and could be completely wrong so apologies in advance was just a thought :)

Looks like things are settling nicely going by those recent snuggle photographs.
I'm sure they will continue to rough each other about and this is very normal for kittens (and cats), and as has been said earlier is also how they learn about appropriate behaviours like how hard to bite, not play fighting with claws out etc.   Like Bandit505 and JennyR have said, I would let them work things out but keep an eye on them, as we all should with our cats, and if things get too serious and one sided you can try to divert attention, or get them used to what  your 'stern'
voice is like - that's what I did with the kitty sisters I used to have.

They've been little angels today. I guess they were just so excited to play with each other, and I kept freaking out and separating them... that when I finally let them play it out, they got their excitement out lol.

Well, they were kind of loud, at playing. So naturally, it sounded like 'way over the top'.

That Mysti could win for 'best fighting kitten...in a dramatic series' if any 'kitten awards' were being given out.

Secretly, she is kind of my favourite. But only because she actually can fight better than Gypsy, and gives Gypsy some good jabs, and uses her back legs to kick off and roll her.

(It sounds like I'm into kitten playfighting...which I am not...but I do like watching kittens playing. They seem to roll, tumble, turn, backflip, posture,...and I cringe because they look like it all hurts...but it's only playing.)

They brush it off, and act like elite athletes competing at the olympics. They hold no grudges, and play again.

Gypsy is also cute, but likes more of the ambush style of play. Kind of sneaky.

They are both adorable, either way @seasaltysiren. They grow up so fast. Changing daily, and finding new things to do.

Little angels huh?
I bet that doesn't last long.   Still, it's always long enough for us to let them away with what ever scheme they come up with next and what ever scale of disaster zone they create.
The price of loving our kittens and cats.

They look so gorgeous all snuggled up together @seasaltysiren  , but for me nothing beats the laugher I get out of watching kittens and young cats at play together.   Relax and enjoy.   I am so happy this looks like it is all settling down nicely.
