Hi everyone,
I've just recently adopted a kitten and he seems completely healthy, eating, running, playing and sleeping wise but hes started to poop dark feces such as the pic and I read somewhere that it's a bad sign if a cat's poop is black, so I'm just worrying if this is normal or he needs to be taken to a vet?

Has the kitten seen a vet at all? Vaccinated, dewormed, neutered?

This doesn't look too abnormal to me. What are you feeding him?

we only adopted the kitten two weeks ago and he has received his first vaccinations before we adopted him (we assume he was dewormed and everything because they said all we had to do was give him his vaccinations next month and then once very year) and he was sterilized in a procedure a day before we adopted him. He will receive his other vaccinations in a month as suggested by the SPCA and we are feeding him fish, chicken and salmon canned food along with his royal canin kitten food (his teeth were too small to chew the dry food and the canned food is for kittens).

He's probably fine. The dark poop may be from dehydration. As in he needs more wet food/water in his diet. One dark poop is not much to be concerned about. Sounds like he had anesthesia for his neuter, and his body is adjusting. Eating more dry than wet will cause darker poops, but they are solid, which is overall good. Keep us posted!

Make sure your kitten gets wet food daily. The hydration helps to soften poop.
