My handsome little prince, Finnick, is almost 2 years old now and I have wondered about his breed mix since the day he was born! I found this site and decided to ask all of you... any help is greatly appreciated!

Finnick, along with his mother & 3 other siblings, were first rescued by a friend immediately after their arrival. The original owner was apparently very unhappy with the unexpected litter, fathered by an unknown male, so he decided he'd dispose of mama & kittens himself.. in an unspeakable fashion (despicable, I know)! The kittens were born on a hot, cement floor in a dirty garage in mid-July & thankfully my friend took them, & mom, home that very night, saving each from certain death.

I mention this for a few reasons:
1) unfortunately there is zero known about the father(S) to help distinguish breeds
2) I was able to meet the entire litter very early in their life. I have literally watched Finn grow since he was 3 days old. Often times, owners of a new cat never meet their siblings, or even the mother.
3) as a rescue, with unknown lineage, identifying Finn'S breed(S) will never be certain but I think it can be narrowed down, especially now his personality and physical features have developed.

Finnick --- male, 22 months, medium - long haired. Double pawed/extra toe on all 4 paws with long hair between digits, down to paw pad. His Fur color, over 75% of his body, is white, with a ginger/orange color covering the remaining 25%, located only on his tail, hind legs excluding paws, face mask, and two small body spots. His orange tail is long in length, with long bushy hair, and a faint, striped pattern. Finnick does not show much pattern marks within his fur, except for the tail, and face mask -- he has the pencil marks coming off his eyes & some resemblance of an M on his forehead. His face shape is very triangular, with his nose and forehead almost creating a straight line.

He has an extremely loud, but beautifully melodic, higher pitched meow. Unlike any other I've heard, it's by far the most unique. Sometimes it sounds like legitimate words, as crazy as that sounds! However He is only vocal when he wants something. He loves water from the faucet -- whether to drink, or bathe, he doesn't mind getting wet. Possibly a waterproof undercoat?? He gets along great with other animals, but very shy around humans, strangers esp. But he only cuddles or sleeps on my lap -- he generally won't let anyone else even pet him. He will stiffen right up until it stops & he can run away! He is truly a Character and by far, the most amazing companion.

After reading information on the Maine coon & Norwegian forest cat (NFC) breeds, I really think he displays characteristics of both, specially NFC. What do you think???

Here's some pictures of Finnick to help! Thanks !!

I would like to hear about the mom!  As you for sure know whom the mom is.  Do you have pics of her?

I mean, breeds are realy not about looks but ancestry.   Compare to looks we do only when we dont anything about ancestry.
