Store bought flea medication

Hi guys,

so I got a new foster tonight who is pretty much eaten up in fleas. my vet was closed for the weekend so i ran into my petstore and bought a Sentry topical for her. i'm wondering if this is effective/good to use?

if not, are there any store brand flea meds you would recommend?

Sentry does not have a great reputation when it comes to pet safety. Flea and tick meds that you can buy at pet stores are really the most dangerous. Prescription medications from the vet are much safer. Unfortunately the prescriptions are more expensive, but that's how it goes I guess. Can you ask around with other fosters to see if they have extra Revolution or Advantage on hand? Otherwise a gentle bath is probably the best you can do until the vet opens.
