Blossom didn't really like it, but kittens tend to like being "groomed" better than adults, probably because that is what their mother does. I use a damp cloth and just wipe their eyes. If they are still messy I rub a little, then make sure it is dry enough that they won't get sores from the constantly wet skin. Trimming the hair under the eyes is what we do for our dogs with runny eyes, it helps to keep them cleaner even if it can look a little weird.
Lovely pictures. It's so nice to see them all growing up. Little Bee is just adorable.
Is Blossom a good girl when you clean her eyes? One of my rescues is FIV+ and has herpes. I have a solution to clean her eyes with and drops for whenever she has a flare-up, but it's a daily battle to keep her eyes clean. I used to be able to "Burrito" her, but she knows what it means when she sees me coming with a towel now. She doesn't have any teeth, but she has claws and she's not afraid to use them!
I've kind of resigned myself to the fact that she is going to have permanent tear stains. Any tips for cleaning cat's eyes?
She may not know it, but you are doing a great thing for her. : )
