Good morning!
 And Happy Friday!

What's the last song you listened to?

Rick brought me into work early this morning, so I had enough time to go for a 3.75 mile walk. The last song I listened to was "Let's Go Crazy" by Prince as I was walking back into the parking lot.

" In The Mood" -  by the Glenn Miller Orchestra .    I happened to catch it on an AM radio station in my car last night.  I love Big Band music!

Gawd I hate to say this but it was one of Beyonce's new ones from "Lemonade".  I got sucked into watching the video.

It isn't that I dislike her, she's just not my kind of music although, I did like the video.

Something by Raffi :anon: They play it at my kids play group and they love it.

Otherwise, probably "stressed out" by Twenty One Pilots. My son is obsessed with that song.

the most recent music i heard was in the cab on the ride to the vet's (on thursday). not sure what the song was or the artist, it was in a foreign language (i think Turkish).

the most recent music i listened to was quite a while ago, but it would have been either bossa nova or big band/swing music.

The last song I heard was a few days ago on Call the Midwife and I'm sorry to say to all the brita that it was the Ying Tong song.

I'm listening to it now: Whiskey in the Jar, the Dubliners.  The song is about a highwayman (one who held up carriages, and robbed the passengers), who is betrayed by his wife or lover. It is thought to have originated in the 1600's in Ireland. John Gay, who wrote The Beggar's Opera in 1728, may have been inspired by the song, and may have based the opera on it.  He may have heard it being sung by a ballad-monger. Ballad-mongers sold sheet music of the popular songs of the day, and sung the song while hawking the sheet music in the streets. Needless to say, with my "singing" voice, I would not have sold much sheet music.

I remember the Thin Lizzy version.
