Goodbye, buddy

I'm so sorry. I knew this day would come, but I wasn't ready yet. I doubt I ever would have been ready. We had 15 great years together, and you got me through some very hard times in my life. I hope you know I did what I think was best for you. This was the hardest thing I've ever had to do, but I knew how badly you were hurting. Sleep well, old friend. I hope we can somehow meet again.

I'm so very sorry for your loss. Thoughts & Prayers for you and your "wee one".  It sounds like you had a very special relationship.  It's never easy under any circumstance.

May I ask the name of your loved one?

His name was Ash.  I met him the day he was born, and we've hardly been apart ever since.

What a sweet picture of Ash, a real cutie pie.  Saying goodbye is never easy.

I understand, my boy Simon is in the last month or so of life.  I've had him since 2 weeks, and we've rarely been separated.  He understands everything I say.  

I feel like you and Ash shared a bond, very much like Simon and I.  I can't express enough how my heart goes out to you.  

I sure he's at peace and watching over you.  I hope too that someday we will be reunited with our loved ones.

Our hearts are never ready to say goodbye, but unfortunately the day does come and nothing can stop it. You took on dear Ash's pain as your own broken heart, sparing him suffering and a future of pain and fear. Try not to dwell on the end, but celebrate knowing this wonderful boy that entered your life and forever changed it. Although it is hard to imagine a life without him, he will be forever by your side through your precious memories and the sweet dreams of happier times. Please know we are here for you, we know the pain and the heartache of losing such a big part of our lives, we will share your pain and mourn with you, he is a part of the big family we all belong to. RIP sweet Ash, you will never be forgotten, and will be forever held in a loving heart!

Thank you all for your kind words. He could have lived 50 years, and I still wouldn't have been ready for this. I miss him so much it hurts, but I am feeling better, in part thanks to the very kind people here. What a wonderful group of people you are
