So, I was a bad cat mom and didn't actively administer topical flea treatments to my cats for a long time. Well, my roommate's dogs brought them in the house and both of my babies started scratching. So, I brushed them with the flea comb and immediately applied Sentry Fiproguard to both of them. I have to brush them both every day with the flea comb, and the treatment does not seem to be working. I find a at least 2 or 3 on both of them every day. I am moving soon (in 2 weeks) but I am afraid of bringing the fleas with us. I've stayed on top of vacuuming and spraying the carpets/furniture with flea spray... but they are still ending up on my fur babies. What can I do to rid of these fleas for good and keep them out of my new apartment?!?

Also, the Sentry fiproguard says to apply it every 4 weeks. Is it too soon to administer a different topical treatment like Advantage without the same active ingredient?? Something's gotta give.

I would tru Vectra or Revolution, some cats just dont react to certain flea medications.

Also if the dog is still coming in and out with fleas and hasnt been treated himself that could be why they keep reappearing. My girl had flea dirt found on her at the vet and we cleaned the whole house, treated her with revolution and havent had any issues since! Good luck

Also make sure the empty your vaccuum as fleas can survive in there

I don't know anything about the treatment that you used but I know a lot of people have recently said that Frontline isn't working well anymore.  Apparently the fleas have developed a resistance to the active ingredient in Frontline.  I haven't heard that about Advantage.  If you want to go with Revolution you will have to get it from your vet.  Because of the heart worm part of it it is considered prescription rather than an over the counter pesticide.

I use Advantage and have used Revolution in the past and found both of them to be good. Not sure about using it so soon after the flea treatment you just applied - I would check with the vet about that.
