3 days ago my cat (british shorthair) gave birth to 4 kittens. Today I've noticed that one of the kittens is really weak, not really moving, just slowly berating  with her/his mouth open, tried putting her next to mothers nipple and didn't want to drink. I don't know what to do! I am just waiting for vet to open currently its 4:50am cant take her anywhere and the vet opens at 8:00am, what should I do in the meantime? Looked all over the internet and they told me to go to the vet immediately  , but I still have to wait 3 hours till the vet opens. please help. Thanks

Are you a breeder?

The kitten needs to be supplemented with kmr immediately if it is to have any chance at all. Do you have kmr? Have you been weighing the kittens?

Put the kitten under your shirt and against your chest to warm up.  After it regains temperature, you can keep it warm in its nest with a sock filled with rice and microwaved for five minutes.

Can you make emergency kitten glop?  Look up some recipes online and see if you have suitable ingredients.  If this kitten is cold, unable to eat, and breathing with its mouth open it may already be too late, but you should try.

Are you able to keep mom inside and away from intact males until she can be spayed?  She can already get pregnant again.

The kitten passed?  I'm sorry to hear that.

Are you able to weigh the others daily to make sure they are thriving?  I would also recommend getting kmr and a needleless syringe in case they need to be supplemented.

And what about mom?  How is she?  Can you keep her from getting out?

yes, and it was my favourite one..

I dont have a scale or anything to weigh them in. Should I just take them to the vet or what I dont know what to do...

Mom is fine she is always inside.

Yes, you can take him away from the nest and bury him.  I'm sorry for your loss.

You should buy a kitchen or postage scale.  It's a lot cheaper than a vet visit if you don't suspect anything is wrong.

Mom must have gotten out if she got pregnant. It's important that she stay in and get spayed when the kittens are 8 weeks old now.
