Large Scabby Sore

My cat has a dime sized sore behind one of her ears. When it starts to scan over she scratches the scab off. Other than this she is eating b and behaving normally. Does anyone know what could've caused this sore and how I can help it heal?

That looks very painful.  I would really recommend that you bring her to a vet for appropriate treatment.
