My aunts cat has a weird black spec under his chin, it's hard and sticks out. It's definitely not a full tic just wondering if it's maybe just the head? Should I try to take tweezers and get it out? It's hard to see in the picture
It's likely a blackhead / feline acne. Some cats get them. It's thought that feline acne is caused by an allergy to plastic bowls. I think it's because cats can't wash under their chins so bacteria and skin oils tend to build up under there and causes acne.
I wouldn't try to pull the black thing out. You may cause irritation to the skin. Just keep the chin clean by wiping with a damp towel or a pet wipe daily. Some people use Stridex acne pads (the kind that teenagers use) to clean the chin. If the acne gets worse, the vet can prescribe an ointment to help clear it up.
If your aunt is using plastic bowls, have her change to glass or stainless steel bowls instead. I think ceramic and stoneware bowls are ok to use, too.
